## **Description of the Charitable Trust**
## **Governing Document**
**The Trust Deed dated 14[th] December 1964, The freehold of the Village Hall is vested with the Charity Commission.**
## **Objects of the Charity**
**The objects of the Charity are to maintain and insure the Village Hall for the use of the inhabitants of Ide Hill Village and the neighbourhood without distinction with regard to sex or political, religious or other opinions, and in particular for the use of meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.**

## **Charity’s activities and achievements during the year:**
**This year the Village Hall Trust has continued with its activities specified in the Objects of the Charity (as above)**
**The year saw a gradual return to near normal business as Covid 19 receded. As restrictions were eased lettings resumed to previous levels, and the Trustees were able to increase hire charges for the first time for a number of years.**
**New windows were installed with the help of a £4,000 grant from the village shop, and new curtains put up. The Village Fair was held in August and £2,700 donated to local activities.**
**The end of the year saw large increases in energy prices. The village hall has not been exempt from these and has seen a big rise in its electricity tariff. Steps are being taken to minimise our electricity costs, but it has been necessary to increase the price paid by our hirers for heating for the first time in many years.**
