## **Objectives and Activities.**

The purpose of the Charity, as set out in its Governing Document, is the provision of an Institute and Recreation Ground for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Eythorne, (and in particular, but not exclusively, such of the said inhabitants as are members of the mining community) of the area of benefit without distinction of political, religious or other opinion with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

## **Trustees Annual Report**

The Trustees believe that the Charity objectives are continuing to be achieved successfully.

## **Vice Chair’s Report for 2023**

2023 was quite a good year for the Welfare scheme following on from the Covid pandemic, bar takings were back up to the level pre-Covid.

A capital purchase was made for machinery to enable the bowling club to maintain the green to the highest of standards required by their governing body and they continue to grow their membership.

We have new tenants moving into the bungalow shortly which will reinstate the revenue stream from the rental of the bungalow.

The recruitment of trustees to fulfil the trustee quota required as per our governing document is ongoing and hopefully in the near future we will achieve the number required, although the management of the scheme remains quorate at the moment with the present trustees. Wendy Hansell has joined us as a trustee as a representative from the parish council, Tom Groombridge has retired from his position as Chairman & trustee of the scheme, hence why the Vice Chair is doing this report, Joseph Clayton has also resigned his position as secretary of the scheme and Jackie Thatcher has been appointed as the new secretary, Jackie has had a long association with the scheme having served as a committee member previously.

All in all the future looks quite promising for the scheme and we are continuing to grow our membership and presence in the local community.

Gari Machin …….Vice Chair TMWI & RG
