Section E: Financial Revlew
The group's policy on reserves is to hold sufficient resources to continue the activities of the group
should income and fundraising activities fall short. The Group Trustee Board considers that the
group should hold a sum of £5,000.00 against this.
The Group held unrestricted reserves of approximately £19,000 against this at the year end. This
is above the level required for operating expenses. However, this can be explained by the fact
deposits have been received for future camps.
The Group does not have sufficient funds to invest in longer temi investments. The Group has
therefore adopted a risk adverse stratsgy to the invesknent of its fvnds. All unrestricted funds are
held in cash using only mainstream banks or building societies. Restricted funds are held in a bank
deposit account earning interest but has no period of notice for withdrawals.
Section F: Future Plans
The Group has just under £25,000 in our Building Fund and this will be used to erect a fence
around the whole perimeter of the Group's land and then we will look into replacing or repairing
the outside storage buildings.
Our Minibus is used to enable us to offer our members a fvll range of scouting activities but the
number of volunteers who can drive it is dwindling. It is reaching the end of its life and we are
considering if or when to replace it.
We are keen to recruit both uniformed and non-uniformed volunteers. With our plans to improve
our facilities we are particularly keen to increase the membership and experien￿ of our Group
Management Committee.
Section G: Declaratlon
The trustees declared that they have approved the trustees report above.
Signed on behalf of the charitys trustees.
