SMHT- 2024 Chair Review
Overview
A successful year, hall users, hirer5, attendances to functions, discounts to other charities
maintained and a successful May fayre.
Capital work, we opened our expansion project which enabled us to utilise more hire Space
of 3 micro offices and 2 more activity rooms. The project will continue into 2025 to
complete the refurbishment of the whole building and finish the installation of heat pumps
and solar panels.
Taking the bar in house is paying dividends

Events in the hall
We ran all our regular events to support the community, music, cinema etc.
May Fayre
The May fayre was very successf ul, we are planning to continue the event for 2024, this 15
an ad hoc arrangement reviewed each year. It is an event that we do not raise money for
ourselves it is purely for the benefit of other charities and associations and the residents in
the town.
Future
Complete expansion, consolidate our financial position by building back our reserves.
Extension Project
A substantial increase in Sawbridgeworth Community Facillties
What will we get
100% increase in hire space of 200sqm,
3 rooms, inc tech centre + 3 micro offices
Heat pumps / air con units
14.5 Kw Solar panels to make 30kw total

The new areas are well used and contributing significantly to the hall income.

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
{"the Acl"}.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515}Ibl of the Act.
