Chorleywood Village Halls Management Trust: Report by Cllr Raj Khiroya

This year we are celebrating The Queen’s Jubilee year and to mark the occasion, the War Memorial Hall has been booked for Wednesday 1[St] June 2022 for the Jubilee luncheon.

Furthermore, it is the War Memorial Hall’s 100[th] Anniversary and the occasion will be celebrated on Saturday 26[th] and Sunday 27[th] November 2022.

As far as the post pandemic bookings are concerned the Village Halls bookings have increased but certain demographic groups are still cautious about returning to the halls. Therefore, it is unlikely that the hall will break even this year. Since the halls have been re-opened a new caretaker for the War Memorial Hall has now been hired. As usual for the elections, Bullsland Hall has been booked for Thursday 5[th] May, 2022.

The regular maintenance works, including all the servicing, have been carried out at all the Halls. The Common Room ceiling has been painted and where the leak was, with the settlement cracks on the outer wall, will be filled and repainted. With regards to Hollybush, there was an issue again with the drainage system outside and Thames Water were called out to resolve the problem.

A special note of thanks to all the members of staff for the excellent team work and for looking after the Community assets.
