BRAZIER TRUST REPORT BYTHE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER 2024-2025 The gift of a piece of land to the Urban District Council in 1928 by Joe Brazier forms what is nowthe Link Road car park and part of the Town Meads. The gift created a Charitable Trust, which is administered by the Town Council. The object of the Trust is to maintain the open space for the benefit of the public; any surplus income is distributed for the general benefit of the inhabitants of Bishop's Stortford. Neither the expenditure nor income of the Trust forms part of the Town Council's overalLfinances. The Trust benefits from the rent derived from the lease of the Link Road Car Park to the District Council. DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS The Trust awards grants to voluntary and charitable organisations and set aside £30,249 for this in 2024-2025. In addition, it received a donation of £12.751 from the Town Council to top up the 'grants budget, for a total of £43.000. This donation from the Town Council substitutes for a grant aLlocation of the same size which, in former years, was distributed directly by the Town Council and the effect is to bring together the two allocations into a single fund which can therefore award larger grants and deal with applications more effectiveLy. The grants policy and an application form are available from the Council website:

A number of applications were received during the year and a total of £27,007 were approved: GRANT APPLICATIONS2024-2025 Applicant Date Of Meeting 2410612024 2410612024 Grant Approved £ 500 750 Aspects Bishop's Stortford Climate Group (Cycle Stortford) Kitteridge All Sports Bishop's Stortford Historical Society Citizens Advice East Herts Grove Cottage East Herts Black Parents Assembly Hertfordshire County Council- Services for Young People Red Kite Bishop's Stortford Life Savingclub Royal British Legion Bishop's Stortford Branch 2410612024 0711012024 0711012024 0711012024 0711012024 0711012024 2000 3000 5000 5000 1700 1552 2410312025 2410312025 2410312025 5000 803 1702 Huw Jones Chief Executive Off icer
