New Forest Chalr Annual Report
At the time of writlng we have now been the New Forèst C*istrictfor 20 rnonths. Forthe
period covered by thi5 AGM we have cotnpleted our flrst full year. This has been a period ol
thange and adjustment on a local level. The succe55 of the merger Is down to the
chararter and skills of all of those Involved, led by the Dlstrlrtcommissioners. In steedng
us through the change.
Frorn a Governance point of view my grateful thank5 must 90 to all of the Trustees across
the OistrKtfor the hard work you do. I would Ilke to e5peclally thank those trustees who
slt on the District Board ef Trustees (Formerly know as the Executwe coMm￿eel. They
work tirelessly In the background ensurin9 thatthe Distrirt is on a firm and legal foodng, In
c¢rnpliarice wlth the Charity Cornmission and Scout A550ciation Rules.
Our blggest a55et, Harry's Island continues to go from Strength to strength. There is
great tearn of people ensuring all runs smoothly.1t is always fully booked well in advance
nd the income generated allows us to keep eur rnembership fees low and also, we can
support a nurnber of projects such 85 grant5 for those going to the World jamboree.
The Appointments Committee has held numerous Welcome Chats and so we have been
able to SUPPDrt the safe recruitment prartices requlred by the Scout AsscciatKin. My
thanks to atl who supportthls.
We are about to embark on yet rnore changg, Inltiated nationallyto ensure our compliance
with the Charity Commission Rules. In reality, if the Executive committees have been
running as they should then there is little significant drference. other than the name. Chairs
are encouraged to Use the resources on the Scout Association Website.
Once agaln, my 9r4teful thanks for all that you do. whatsver your role
