Scouting provides activities and development opportunities for young people, regardless of religion, race, social or economic background. Outdoor activities such as camping, hiking expeditions, water activities and adventure are still very much at the heart of Scouting.

Our Young People are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme. "Participation" rather than meeting set standards is the key approach and for the young person who wants to be recognised for his or her achievements there are a number of Challenges Awards and Activity Badges. The young people take part in a **Summary of the main** balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which **activities undertaken for the** they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance **public benefit in relation to** of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents.
