FinanciaL Review
In the financial year April 2024 to March 2025. Gosport 6th has continued to be financially
secure. The overall financial result was a ga in of just over £5500, particularly thanks to
donations and fundraising and an increase in our Gift Aid income.
Total income was £123.000 - a small increase overth8 previous year, with some increases
from membership fees (due to growth in numbers) and Gift Aid receipts, as well as another
year on year increase in the event income for allthe events the team runs for our young
people across all sections - Event income making up around half of ourtotal incomefor
the year.
This event income is always used to directly fund the events - n8veY intended to make
profit. and within the yearthe group spent over £62.000 on event activitie8. Out of a total
expense of£118,000.
The other significant expense forthe Group is the membershlp fee that we pay to the
Scouts Association, which was just shy of £20.000 for the iastyear. Our other key expenses
ale for the Nnning and maintenance costs for our HLrt and ground8, and investment in our
equipmentto support our activities and camps, and the Group were ableto invest over
£5500 in equipment in the year thanks to the additional income received.
Oveiall. the Group continues to be in a strong financial position, with strong reserves
3vailable, e8rfiing investrnent income forthe Group and providing comfort should any
SIEnificant investment be iequired forthe hut or other new equipmentforoui activities. The
Trustee group review ourfinances and budget regularty, and ensure we continue to make
good financial decisions in the interest of rhe Group 8nd ouryoung people.
