In¢ 14fh E,- Splrflre GSL report page In writing this annual report for 2020 much of the time we were operating under strict guidance from the Government and National Youth agency in that we were locked down in our homes with main scouting suspended lor much of the year. The Annual Census at the start of year showed a slight decrease in overall numbers. This was mainly due to Beavers on the wailing list not taking up the opportunity to join when vacancies occurred. Othenvise, we would have increased on the previous year Membership. I must thank ihe great team of leaders and assistant leaders that give up so much time to run their section. Time spent behind the scenes in planning the meeting programme. However, we really need additional adult support to enable us to increase our numbers to meet the demand of youngsters wanting to join us. Also, many thanks to the Group Exec for their valuable support to the Group to ensure we are able to continue to provide Scouting to the young people. All sections have been active throughout the year not only at their weekly meetings but other activities also. Some successful meetings were held 'virtual' online. A big thank you to the leade￿ that facilitated this as it is not easy to change meetings from face to face to online. The sL2ndaTd of badgework is continued to be high with every opportunity to continue with this throughout the difficult year. Some badgework was carried out under Parents supervision while at home. The maintenance of the HQ has continued to be a fDCUS, Wlth many improvements and repairs carried out while the HQ was not in use. All routine tests and inspections wcrc complctcd in rcadiness for scctions bcing back with facc-to-facc mcctings. The Band has continued meeting when guidance allowed. Although very much reduced public performances most of the year the band met with under 18's only as social distancing reduced the number we could have in the HQ, with all dooIs and windows open. We look fonvard to be back performing in public in 2021 lan Cole Group Scout Leader Pag¢ 3 of8
