This includes the registration,<br>keeping proper accounts and making returns to the Charity<br>Commission as appropriate.<br>The Committee consists of 3 independent representatives,<br>Chair, Treasurer and Secretary, plus any Section Leaders<br>who wish to be part of the committee, together with the<br>Group Scout Leader and any other elected or nominated<br>persons and meets at least 3 times a year.<br>Members of the Executive Committee complete_'Trustee_<br>_Introduction'_training within the first 5 months of joining the<br>committee.<br>This Group Executive Committee exists to support the<br>Group Scout Leader in meeting the responsibilities of the<br>appointments and is responsible for:<br>The maintenance of Group property;<br>The raising of funds and the administration of Group finance;<br>The insurance of persons, property and equipment;<br>Group public occasions;<br>Assisting in the recruitment of leaders and other adult<br>support;<br>Appointing any sub committees that may be required;<br>Appointing Group Administrators and Advisors other than<br>those who are elected.<br>The group has in place systems of internal controls that are<br>designed to provide reasonable assurance against material<br>mismanagement or loss, these include secondary approval<br>for all payments and a comprehensive insurance policies to<br>ensure that insurable risks are covered.|

|Quantify and explain any designations<br>Details of any funds materially in deficit<br>(circumstances plus steps to eliminate)|The Group held reserves of £6,574 against this at year end.<br>This is above the level required.<br>The<br>Group's<br>policy<br>on<br>reserves<br>is<br>to<br>hold<br>sufficient<br>resources to continue the charitable activities of the group<br>should income and fundraising activities fall short. The<br>Group Executive Committee considers that the group should<br>hold a sum equivalent to 2 terms operating costs, circa<br>£3,500 and a £2,500 contingency fund.<br>**Annual Financial Review**<br>The main sources of funds this year have been membership<br>subscriptions of £9,436, from which the sum of £5,270 has<br>been paid over to the UK Scout Headquarters in relation to<br>membership costs. The Group has also received donations<br>totalling £2,393 from the use of the Scout Hut and other<br>donations totalling £1,775.<br>The main items of expenditure have been; £1,713 for<br>upgrading the camping equipment; the sale of uniform items<br>and badges totalling £1,423, which is partly offset by income<br>of £890 from the sale of uniforms and badges; Insurance of<br>£1,197 and utilities of £3,905 (although approximately<br>£2,000 of this relates to an overcharge for gas usage that<br>will be reclaimed in the next financial year).<br>The Group has also spent £17,393 on venue maintenance,<br>which includes the sum of £16,478 that has been spent on<br>improvements to the Hut.<br>Excluding the Hut improvement expenditure, the overall<br>movement of funds for the year showed net income of £603.|

Introduction of a 2nd Beaver Colony & Squirrel Drey - Leaders required. Expand Cub section leadership to allow taking more into that section. Boulster leadership within Scouts to accomodate expansion. Renovations of rear yard back to lawn, allowing for onsite camping / campskills, as well as the environmental improvement.

I report on the accounts of the Group/District for the year ended 31 March 2025

As the Group's/District's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that neither the audit nor independent examination requirements of the Charities Act 2011 apply. It is my responsibility without carrying out an audit or independent examination to scrutinise the accounts and to report to you.
