Trustees Report
This year as seen a difficult year with our Group Scout Leader deciding to suddenly leave his post and the Group in December 2022, the Leadership team has continued as is and Nick Eccles (Scout leader) has stepped into the role of GSL on an Acting Basis. We had 5 Fund raising activities in the Year the Christmas and Easter Raffle, Summer BBQ and the Traditional Fireworks night. The Fireworks night continues to be the most successful, and teh future of teh Raffles and Summer BBQs to be reviewed given money raised vs the effort from a small team of volunteers required to put it on. The 5th fundraising activty was running a stall with food and drinks for teh Strongman competition that is run at our grounds, this year it proved to be a very successful day.
The Sections remain strong with number fo young people however we continue to struggle to attract new leaders and helpers this is impactingteh quality of programme the leaders are able to put on, however there were several camps run during the year including the traditional wekk long summer camp at Huish Woods in Taunton which was a great success.
There have been no incidents within the group during the year they require any reporting to either the Scout Association or the Charities Commision.
Jane Godsell once agin completed the independant review of teh Accounts and found them to be all in order.
Natalie Ryan, Chair of the Trustees.
