They conslst of a Royal Charter, which in turn gives authority to the Bye Laws of the Association and The Policy. Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association. The Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association. Rlsk and Internal Control The group has in place systems of internal controls that are designed to provide reasonable assurance against material mismanagement or loss. these include 2 signatories for all payments and a comprehensive insurance policies to ensure that insurable risk5 are covered. Scouting takes place when young people, in partnership with adults, work together based on the values of Scouting and.. - enjoy what they are doing and have fun take port in activities indoors and outdoors learn by doing share in spiritual reflectio take responsibility and make choices undertake new and challenging activities make and live by their Promise. Main Artivities The group has Scouts, Cubs and Beavers sections which carry on weekly activities at the Scout Hall in in the surrounding area to rneet the criteria for earning badges and fulfilling their potential through understanding aspiring to the Scout Values. Achievements and Perforrnanco The three sections were engaged in a number of camps and nights away in 2024, includlng the District Jamboree involving over 800 scouts. The Cub5 Stayed overnight on HMS Belfast. The Beavers had overnight stays wlth Cubs at Gilwell amongst others. Weekly adivities included learning about and celebrating Lunor New Year, Easter, Christmas and both Mothers and Fathers days. Beavers helped planting in the local community and there were also litter picking events. All sections took part in the remembrance parade and perfom)ed at the Christingle service held at St Margaret's. Flnanclal Revlew The group treasurer changed during the year and the main objective was to claim previous gift aid where possible. This was achieved giving additional funds to the group for future projects and hall maintenance. Reserves Policy The Group's policy on reserves is to hold sufficient resources to continue the charitable activities of the group should income and fundraising activities fall short. The Group Trustee Board considers that the group should hold a sum equivalent to 9 months running costs, circa £36,000. The Group held reseNes of approximately £55,ClJ) against this at year end. This is above the level required for operating expenses.
