The object of the charity is the provision and maintenance of a village hall for use by the inhabitants of the Parish of Colbury and the surrounding neighbourhood, including use for: a) Meetings, lectures and classes. b) Other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation. With the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants. Trustees who served during the year: David Charmer- Chairman Mary Bryant Caroline Hubbard Charlotte Bryant Tim Richardson During the past year the Committee has continued to maintain the Hall to a high standard as expecled by the local inhabitants, despite a tough economic climate. The trustees have initiated a programme of external work to ensure the integrity of the Hall. The Hall continues to be widely used by the local community. The Committee feels it has a responsibility to keep sufficient reserves of £10,000 to ensure repairs as necessary can be undertaken to keep the Hall maintained in accordance with local and national regulations, and in the condition which the hirers would wish to find it. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF COLBURY MEMORIAL HALL
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Colbury Memorial Hall (the Charity) for the year ended 31 December 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
