## **`OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES`**

The objects of the charity are:

"TopromotethebenefitofinhabitantsofWithaminparticularandthewiderareaofEssexingeneral(hereand after
called"areaofbenefit")withoutdistinctionofsexorpolitical,religiousorotheropinionsbyassociatingwith local
authorities,voluntaryorganisationsandinhabitantsinacommonefforttoadvanceeducationandtoprovide facilities
intheinterestofsocialwelfareforrecreationandleisuretimeoccupationwiththeobjectofimprovingthe conditions
of life for the said inhabitants".

for the year of £14,366 (2022: £10,256 ).

At the balance sheet date the charity had a deficit in funds of £4,794 (2022: £9,572 surplus).

Thesefinancialstatementsarepreparedonthegoingconcernbasisdespitethedeficitintotalfundsof£4,794 (2022:
£9,572surplus).Thisislargelyduetotheincreaseinenergypriceswhichthecharitycouldnotpassonto its
stakeholders.Thetrusteesbelievethatcostreductionsimplementedandcontinuousfundingreceivedfromthe local
council will result in the deficit in funds being remedied in the following year.

TheresultsoftheCharity'stradingsubsidiaryarerecordedinnote8ofthesefinancialstatementswhichindicate that
subsidiaryundertakinghasabalancesheetdeficit.Thetrusteesarehopefulthatit'sdeficitpositionwillberectified in
the coming years, as the subsidiary has returned to profitability.
