Abridge Village Hall Trust Registered Charity Number: 301352 Report of the Trustees

The trustees present their report and the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025.

Abridge Village Hall Trust was incorporated by a trust deed dated 12 September 1963 and was registered with the Charity Commission (registration number 301352) on 12 December 1963.

Objects of the charity

The principal object of the charity in the year review continued to be to provide a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Abridge and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions, and in particular for the use of meetings, lectures and classes, and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

Reserves policy

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained as a level equivalent to between three and four month's expenditure. The trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of funds has been maintained throughout the year.

Risk factors

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.

I declare, in my capacity of charity trustee, that the trustees have approved the report above and have authorised me to sign it on their behalf.

Abridge Village Hall Trust Independent Examiner's Report

To the trustees of

Abridge Village Hall Trust

We report on the accounts of the Abridge Village Hall Trust for the year ended 31 December 2025, which are set out on pages 4 to 7.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is our responsibility to…

Basis of independent examiner's report

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning and such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair' view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner's statement

In the course of our examination, no matter has come to our attention:
