RÉsk and Internal Control
The Group Trustee Board ha5 identified the major risks lo
which they beli&ve the Group is gxposed. these have been
reviewèd and syste￿¥ have bgèn established to mitigate
against them. Thè main areas of concern that have been
dentifittd are..
Damage to the building, property and eguipment. The Group
would rèquest the use of buildings, propèrty and equipmènl
from neighbouring organisations such as church,
community centre and other Scout Groups. Similar
ciprocal arrangements èxlst wilh these organisalions. Th&
Group has sufficienl buildings and cont8nts insurance
place tc> mitigale against permar¢8nt loss.
Injury to leaders, helpers, supportèrs and members. The
Group through the capitation fegs conlribuies to the Scout
Associab'ons national 8c¢ident insurance policy. Risk
A5sÈssments are undertaken befor8 all activities.
R&duced in¢ome from fund raising. The Group is primarily
reliant upon income froFR subscriplions and fundraising. The
group doès hold 8 rès6rve to ensure the conb"nuity of
activities should th6re be a major reduction in Income. The
8oard could raise the value of subscriptions to increase the
income lo the group on an ongoing basis, eithèr temF¥Jrarily
or permanently.
Reduction or loss of leaders. Th& group is lotally fyliant
upon volunteers to run and administer the actiwlies of the
group. If there was a reduction in thè number ofloaders io
unacceptablè level in a particular Section or the group as
a whole then thère would have lo bè a contraction,
nsolidation or Closure ol a section. In the worst caso
scenario the complete closura of the Group.
Reduction or1oss of members. The Group provides activities
for all young people aged 4 10 18. If there was a reduction in
membership in a particular section or the group as whole
then there would have to be a contraction. ￿nsOl1d3ti0n or
closure of a section. In the worst case scenario the complete
closure of the Group.
