One of the major initi81ives of 2023 was the implementstion of an online booktng syst¢m.
This has proved an excellent ￿￿rCe. a valuable tool for EK>th wr Administrdtor and
our Treasurer.
In June we welcorned a new AdMiniS￿Or Sophie kn rePl￿t LTS& who'd I￿en with us for 6
years. W¢ also wclcomcd Amanda who r¢plar£d Hayl¢y to k¢cp thc hail spick & span whtch
is Fnv¢h appreCi￿ed by our hiEers.
The hall continues to ￿ a ￿pular venue. At weekeThJs it is Fmked out for yoga day4 I￿rtieS,
najning ceremonies and such like &5 well as events held by I(￿1 otEanisations eg Éhe Rotary
Club. cl￿1¢ car club and Choral Socidy. We<klings continue to be a major sOu￿e of income
and there were four in 202i.
Added to our list of weekday regular hirErs ts a morning Pilates session which st3rteAI at the
ginning of the ycar, now we l]ave wobably reached the limit of the slots available for
taking on regular hires. We Thlise the importaDce of keepiDg S0￿C weekday time available
for hirers who return to us time after time such as Julia's House who IM)Id their trainings
sessions in our halL and other organisation& as well as for the ￿¢&S1Onal hirer Tequtring the
hall for a specific event.
Twice monthly. Friday evening is available lor local families to come along to get together,
play a variety of ga￿¢5 or simply up for a (at¢h ￿. A cU￿Y evening was arranged and a
Christr(w BBQ.
Local rc5idents also gathe￿ to watch th¢ Coronation on a big screaj. followed by an ind￿r
'streei party..
Fundrni5ing is a necessary source of *JdÉlioTthI atm] we are very gratefvl to our Socia]

One memorable eveni was ihe Murder Mystay evenin& The Social team 'per5vaded' some
unsuspecttng rtsidettts to demotLstr&e their hidden talents in 'Who Shot th¢ Farnirf.. a
Murder Myslery Play.
Other Fund rnising events included the always quiz night art for the first tim< a
Christmas Wreath making afternoon which was s￿h a success that it's in the diary for 20241
Our monthly Cream ted aftern￿llS held fiY)m March till O£toiKr ar¢ well establish￿ and
people come from far afield. We weEe

In August w¢ hcld our first 'maint¢nan(z day. when (x)mmittee memFtts & a few volunteers

TressuTEf'5 Re ort
2023 was a more rrt)sitive year respect of hire incimne which was up by 120/• on 2021 this
due to att incr￿￿ in hire charg&8 rnther than an i[￿rease in occupancy. EquaEIy
sitively, fi]ndraisit]g income w&s up by 33 /0.
As reiM)rted in the 2022 Treasurer's rerrt fundrrising wa4 the key to ￿hleYing a surplus in
2023 andthat achieved ailKit a stnall of £248.
Enew costs were a concern for 2023, a one year conbxt for the supply was signed but the
osts were £5,596 illCTea5e on the previous yw of over 3(KIYo. The e￿ergY cost for 2024
will t¢ approximately 5011/• of this figur¢.
Hire charges which have remained the same for two years are being incre&sed on 01 January
2025 which wTrll help towards covering the overt]cads.
Oncc agaiE4 fi]ndraising r¢mains the key to ensuring we are able to achieve a sU￿lUS in 2024,
thcre are eight weAldings and the usual Indian Festival iK)oked for 2024 and most weekends
are fully ixjow at thi5 date we are for￿asting a m(mI￿ Surp1¥￿ of a￿u￿A £l.IMM).
It is sens&￿te to tetain as many of our resetves &8 p)ssil)le to cover any fiEture deficits but also
to allow repatrs and replacements as required to equirAnent thai is now more than thirteen
years old. We arc already 5eein8 some of the5¢ costs in 2024 and If they are unexpec￿¢ they
will aff￿t the foreca8ied surplus.
Our biggest challenge now is a noTr fmancial and that ts the EeLruiting of volunteers. We
have welcomed two new committee memEt]¥ in 2024 who replace outgoing members.
We are already buying cakes to sell at cream *a8 rathet thall ￿Illg able to rely on volunte￿5
making them.
Wc h&v¢ hcld rwruitmcnt drivcs at the fctr, have ￿vertS in the hall and on our weitsite and
hope tI￿l regular community events help us Teach new potential volunteers.
Our voluntary Exbsitions are not nttessarily a large time commitmeDL" nMking a cak4 hdping
