The Association was inaugurated in September 1967, the constitution adopted on 30 Nov¢mb¢r
1967 and sinee arnended the un-ineorporated Assoeiation became a Registered Charity in Febrnary
1969. Rules Governing Mc¢tings of the Committcc iY¢re adopted in Fcbruary 1970 and sinc¢
amended. The school is managed by a committee of elected officers and parent-members. trn$tees
for the land, invited representatives and the Head Teacher and staff. We have provided safe and
satlsfying group play for the promotion of the education of pre-school children of Dorchester and
district since 1968.
Our school opened in the Moule Institute, Fordington, Dorchester on 21, April 1968. Building our
own establishment began on 8th November 1968 on leased land. The first sessions there began on 1st
May 1969. The Current long lease rnns from 26th June 1996. We continue to fulfil our aim during
term-time, ¢itend¢d by offering supervision before school and lunch-time.
During the year 2023-2024, two new parents joined the Committee as Parent Committee Members and
Rebekah Cload took over the Secretary role trom Rebecca Kelly.
Staff members Jess Baggley left the Nursery in December 2023 and Laura Hallett returned from
maternity Eeave in April 2024.
New resources purchased for the Nursery included a new home corner; musical flowers for the gardell;
and flow¢r chalk boards, funded from a combination of fimdraising and Pupil Premium funding.
New funding for two year olds cam¢ into effect which saw qualifying working families and
disadvantaged families being able to access 15 funded hours of Childcare per week.
Thanks to a phenomenal fundraising efforL enough money was raised to proceed with having the Nursery
roof replaced ready for the winter and this was completed in Augustlseptember 2023.
D¢spit¢ having some availability for September 2024 du¢ to a number of families having withdrawn after
registering with multiple settings, the Nursery continued to receive frequent enquiries from prospective
parents and there was confidence that any available spaces would be filled.
