On behalf of the Trustee’s of the District it is great to see a really active programme, delivering excellent scouting to the Young People we are all here to support. Its great to see a good portion of the Trustee board being made up of under 25’s.
As a Trustee Board we have been focussing this year on setting a medium-term strategy in place to help to provide some focussed activities around growth, leaders on the ground, financial security, top awards and supporting the programme. I have put an exert below as an aide memoire, with the full document being available on the District SharePoint site.

You will be aware that we have moved to a District Lead Volunteer team to better support the delivery of the programme and our section leaders, and planning how the Trustee can support the programme is one of our key focal points, with specific progress being made in the provision of OSM to all groups, support for the development of a scouting centre of excellence and the relaunch of 1[st] Brixton and Yealmpton. The DLV team bring a real energy and positive vibe which I know will help to lead us to great things for us and the young People we support.
The district leaders were balloted with regards to our future membership of the Shared Asset Management Committee, and as a result of that ballot we have served notice to Plymouth District Scout Council and we are in the process of separation, this is likely to take in the region of 12 – 18 months and will be a key focus to the Trustee’s during the coming year.
It is a pleasure to see the huge efforts that the Foxcove team have put in, and the site is looking great with significant investment to date, and more to come to enable the better delivery of the programme.
As a final note, I would like to thank all the leaders, volunteers and trustees who diligently give their time to support our young people to get the best out of scouting, enabling them to gain skills of life, and have some great memories to look back on.
