## **Trustees Report**

## **Walkhampton Memorial Hall**

## **2023**

This has been a year of returning to normal after Covid and adjusting to the economic situation.

The Committee decided to raise funds for the replacement of ageing and detreating Playpark equipment. The capital was raised from local government funding, National Lottery and local efforts including raffles etc.

Following this very successful fund raising campaign the new equipment was installed and commissioned.

The weekly Coffee shop and market continue to be a central part of village life and continues to raise funds towards the running of the Hall. This along with the local activities such as football, yoga and art groups illustrates our purpose of supplying facilities for the benefit of the village and surrounding area.

The committee continue to work towards the improvement of the Hall for the community and the surrounding area. The youth football teams continue to make good use of the playing field for both matches and training.

The new Allotment area is also starting to take shape and provides a social as well as growing area. Along with Yoga, Indoor bowls and the art group and the use of the Hall for private function the Hall continues to provide a useful and dedicated asset to the area.

The Committee is dedicated to the social wellbeing of the community and is always open to progressing this where possible.

Peter Shapcott Chair of Trustees.
