This Group Executive Committee exists to support the Group Scout Leader in meetins the responsibilities of the app04ntments and is responsible for: The maintenance of Group property; The raising of fvnds and the administration of Group finance; The insurance of persons, property and equipment: Group public occasions. Assisting in the recruitment of leadÈrs and other adult support; Appointing any sub- commrttee5 that may be required: ADpolntlng Group Administrators and Advisors othor than those who are elerted. The method of achieving the Aim of the Assoclatlon Is by provldln8 an enjoyable and attractlve Scheme of pro8resslve tralnin& based on the Scout Promlse and Law and 8ulded by adult leadership. Durln8 the year we have five sections meetln8 on a weekly basls durln8 term tlme: Quebe¢ (Beaversl, Jubilee and Jun8le {Cubsl and Vlctory and Endeavour {Scoutsl and Vulcan (Explorers). Yukon Beavers is currently closed due to lack of leaders. Across all the sectlons, actlvttles were chosen wlth di5CUsslons with the young people and organlsed by leaders to enable chlldren to earn specific activity bad8es as well as to meet the criterla for the challenge bad8es. We are supported by parent volunteer5. Publlc ben•fft statement: The Group meets the Charity Commission'5 public benefrt criterla under both the advancemefrt of educatlon and the advancement of cftlzenshlp or communlty development headin8S. Section D Achievements and performanco, The Group continues its commitment to fundraising to cover the shortfall between costs and money from subscriptions. The Group now has over 90% of all youn8 people movin8 UP through the settions 8alnln8 their Chief Scout Awards, we have exciting and adventurous programmes runnin& and growth wlthln the Group. Most are going on to join Explorers and achievÈ the hieher aword badges. As a group we have around 45 adult volunteers made up of Leaders. Executive Members and Occasional Helpers
Section E Financial Review Reserves Pollcy: The Group's policy on reserves 15 to hold sufficient resources to continue the charitable activlties of the group should income and fundraising attivities fall short. The Group Executive Commtttee considers that the group should hold a sum equlvalent to £6,500 to ensure that there will be enough money to cover any emergenry repairs and replacements e.& to the heatlng In the Scout Hut. The Group held reserves of approximately £30.IXO agalnst thls at year end. However, thls Includes the Capitation cost of £7.383 which is due 1° April 2024. Repairs and maintenance are needed to The Scout Hut and should be completed by Sprlng 2025. Investment pollcy: The Group does not have sufficient funds to Invest In longer term Investments. The Group has therefore adopted a risk averse Strate to the Investment of Its funds. All funds are held in cash at a high street bank.
