## Chairman’s Report
The group continues to thrive under an experienced leadership team and with the support of the board of trustees. The scout group provides a wide and varied programme of events; it is popular with parents in the local community and continues to be over-subscribed with a waiting list for the younger sections. During the year the Scout section was split into the Parkfield and Culverton scout troops to make numbers more manageable and enable growth. The numbers of youth members in each section remains under close scrutiny to ensure that they are manageable with, at the time of the recent annual census, 25 Beavers, 22 Cubs, 16 Parkfield Scouts and 15 Culverton Scouts.
The continued success of the Scout Group is due to the vibrant leadership team and the leaders and the trustees are thanked for the significant time and effort that they devote to the group.
## Reserves Policy
The Trustees have established a policy whereby the unrestricted funds neither designated nor invested in tangible fixed assets should be maintained at a level sufficient for them to be able to continue the current activities of the hut in the event of a significant change in income or expenditure. It would obviously be necessary to consider how funding would be replaced if the level and type of activity changed. The Trustees consider that current level of free reserves is adequate.
## Investment Policy
The Trustees considered the most appropriate policy for investing surplus funds and have decided that the surplus funds should be invested with the Charities Official Investment Fund.
## Responsibilities of the Trustees
The Trustees are required to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the First Princes Risborough Scout Group as at the balance sheet date and of its income and expenditure for the financial year. In preparing those financial statements the Trustees should follow best practice and
- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; and
- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the Scout Group will continue on that basis.
The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of First Princes Risborough Scout Group and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements meet the requirements of the Charity Commission.
The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the First Princes Risborough Scout Group and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The First Princes Risborough Scout Group is a Trust established under its Rules that are common to all Groups/Districts.
The Trustees are appointed in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association.

## Scrutineer's Report to the Trustees of the
## 1[st] Princes Risborough Scout Group
I report on the accounts of the 1[st] Princes Risborough Scout Group for the year ended 31 March 2026.
## Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Scrutineer
As charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”); you consider that neither the audit nor independent examination requirements of the Charities Act 2011 apply.
It is my responsibility without carrying out an audit or independent examination to scrutinise the accounts and to report to you.
## Basis of Scrutineer's Statement
In accordance with the directions given in the scout group's constitution, I have scrutinised the records and the accounts set out on pages 1 to 3.
