CHAIRMAN’S REPORT FOR AGM MAY 2026. PERRANPORTH WAR MEMORIAL HALL.
The main hall floor has now been refurbished and cost approx.. £10,000. The badminton lines have been repainted.
There was damage to the cladding during Storm Goretti on the side wall to the annexe, but new cladding has been fitted.
The stage floor has been refurbished. Woodworm treated and floor coated with two coats of varnish. Thanks to Vicky Brierly’s husband who did the work without making a charge.
New strobe lights fitted to fire alarms. Automatic monitoring of the fire alarms has also now been installed.
Loose concrete slab in the pathway outside the hall has been repaired.
New blinds fitted in the annexe.
There was a very busy week with the Pantomime. It was sold out every night with 190 paying audience except for Thursday evening.
Heating boiler has had its annual service.
The Memorial Hall will be 70 years old in May 2027and it might be appropriate to celebrate with an open day with all hall hirers displaying their activities and possibly something in the evening. Mayabe Perranporth Players who were the first users of the hall. If anyone has any ideas. To be discussed at a future date.
