Duncan Jones announced that he was standing down as Chair of the MSA and mentioned that the first part of t the meeting would be run by himself then the second par will be run by the new Chair - Hatte Fletcher-Webb

Mursley Sports Association “Helping the children and the residents of Mursley find their place on our playgrounds” PSgotts ° MSs s Oe %- = This year has been a good year for the MSA with the football club going from strength to strength at a junior level and getting to the final of the U16’s cup at MK stadium . Also, the cricket club had a successful season with 8 wins and 6 loses Anyway, to the chairman’s report :- Firstly, and most of all I would like to thank current incumbent MSA officers :- ● Sandra Bettison as treasurer always keeps the accounts in immaculate order and chases late payees, ● Charlotte/Lois as secretaries during the year, providing minutes and support to the management team. Also, thanks to the representatives from MUFC – Roy Cooper, Jamie Green and the MCC - Simon Clarke, Justin Daley and Andrew Cowell who all provide great assistance in getting the three organisations working together and are never afraid to put their point of view across Also like to give special thanks to the volunteers who undertake Grounds Maintenance and general pavilion maintenance. ● Simon Bonham for providing our supply of diesel for the tractor and general support ● Dave Tofield for providing the knowledge and materials that are required to keep the grounds and pavilion in good order ● Clare Jones for the internal maintenance of the pavilion Playground Project This year biggest success was the playground project which was opened by the Lead project co-ordinator’s son Aiyan and the local MP Callum Anderson. This project took an in-ordinately amount of work, time and effort by Reshma Craine, without whose input this project would not have been completed so a huge thanks to her. As mentioned at the previous AGM, the committee engaged very heavily with the community to see what variety of equipment was required. The feedback from users that it has been an outstanding success. ~~| |~~
Mursley Sports Association “Helping the children and the residents of Mursley find their place on our playgrounds” PSgotts ° MSs s Oe % = Events 2024/2025 ● Hoedown and Hog roast night – dancing to a Ceilidh band and ● Mursley Food and Drink Festival – Excellent event again and raised much needed funds ● Mussel Night - which was MSA assisted was also a great night ● Xmas o Santa Rotary float - 19th December went well. o Carols at the Green Man – 14th December went well but there were less children than in 2024. Consideration was given to having different timings at the next one as well as other ideas. ● Midsummer Mursley (Murder at Mursley Hall) – a very successful and well attended event which sold out in record time Sports Associations MCC 2024 Highlights included beating Prince of Wales, Marsh twice in three games (these games are always competitive and we have come out of these close-fought games on the wrong side in the past). We also beat a strong Buckingham Town side on their ground in a tremendous all-round team performance. Special mentions must go to Conor Baughan who had another great season with the bat, his brother Jack for his all-round play and great enthusiasm and to see James Dobree-Carey back playing regularly. Toby Barnes had a terrific season with both bat and ball and his dad Craig was his usual consistent self with the ball. It was good to welcome both Paul Green and Adam Smith to the club and to say thank you to John Watson for his continued enthusiasm and to wish him a well-earned retirement from playing ~~|~~

Thanks extends to the committee: - Wayne Nolan for his captaincy and his admin skills to get players on the field, Sue Clarke for her work as treasurer and for co-ordinating teas - the best on our circuit, Andrew Cowell for his role as fixture secretary. Andrew, along with Simon Clarke and Roger Gurnett, who provide such fantastic playing facilities and to all those who play and their families who support them in continuing to turn out. MUFC – 2024/2025 This season has been both one of the more rewarding ones, when we talk on the pitch, but the most challenging off of it. On the pitch we have had 175 players compete under the Mursley banner each week, ranging from 6 - 16, and for the first time, a senior women's team. We have had teams compete at the following levels: U7, U8, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U16, Senior Women In line with participation, we have increased the number of coaches that hold qualifications, for us to be able to deliver over and above the standard of most local clubs. There have been some real highs, particularly establishing more teams at the lower end of the age range, safeguarding the future, as well as an appearance at Stadium:MK for our U16's in their cup final. This year we agreed to partner with a local charity - MK Act. This partnership is unique within the league and area. Our kits now adopt the MK Act logo as standard, as we look to increase visibility of their cause. The perception of the football club across the league is at it's highest for years, and this reputation has allowed us to grow. Off the pitch, this has certainly been one of the most challenging seasons. Costs have increased significantly, and has put us in a vulnerable position. The 2 biggest outlays have been winter training, with the size of the MUGA, and surface, not applicable to our older teams or comparable in quality to other sites; along with the combination of rent & line marker, which were discussed after 24 / 25 budgets were set. Maintenance remains a challenge, as we search for a middle ground on the perspective of the club versus all else. As time progresses, this should open up, but short term, does not provide an option. This summer there will be significant change of personnel within the football club, which will be announced in due course. Initiatives Accomplished Upkeep and maintenance of the pavilion, Seeding and weeding and fertilizing accomplished as always Initiatives Ahead Youth Group Mursley Village fete- 5[th] July Mursley Food and Drink Festival again 4. Treasurers Report ● Sandra summarised as per attached 5. Election of Officers Chairman – SB proposed Hattie Fletcher-Webb and JD Seconded Treasurer – AC proposed Sandra Bettison and CJ Seconded Secretary – SC proposed Stella Hitner and LA Seconded 6. Confirm President & Life Vice-Presidents Neil Coles has confirmed that he would like to step down as Life President so a new one needs to be elected. Reminder to clubs – meetings & appointments MUFC and MCC need to ensure they have representatives at meetings. 9. AOB Sprucing up the Hags unit in the playground – Sanding down and painting. SB suggested putting out to a village for a community day as there are other small jobs that are required to do. Committee to create a snagging list and then put it out to village. Decided on 22[nd] June Vandalism on the new playground – can people keep an eye out certainly around dusk, maybe link in with dog walking 10. Meeting finished 19:30 ~~=~~
