## 1. Welcome and Apologies
The Chairman opened the meeting.
## 2. Chairman’s Report
Thanks to our trustees for another year’s service to the Village Hall. It can be a thankless task at times but one that is of real importance to the residents of Upper Basildon who have used the Vilalge Hall in significant numbers over the last year. Thanks for all your efforts.
Over the past year there have been changes to the make-up of trustees. We’ve lost two, Jenni and Len, who were trustees for a number of years and made a big contribution with their day-to-day expertise. I’d like to place on record the thanks of both myself and my fellow trustees for their commitment and whilst losing Jenni and Len was a blow, there’s been good news in the shape of Steve joining our group. As a recent retiree, Steve has kindly offered to get involved with some of our projects and day to day challenges and will be a really positive addition to the group.
Elsewhere, Sarah has continued to do a fantastic job od keeping the village hall running on a day to day basis. Again, the trustees would like to place on record our thanks for all of the work that Sarah has done.
Over the past year, our finance’s have continued on the relatively even keel that we’ve had in previous years. Our investment portfolio hasn’t performed as well as we’d like and those managing the trust have taken steps to improve the situation through various changes which I’ve shared with trustees via email.
Looking at the finance data provided by Sarah, we can see just over 10K worth of bookings for the year to date with a split of 6K and 4.5K between existing and new bookings. Hopefully, this will continue into the rest of the year.
Moving on to highlights for the year – we’ve improved lighting, cleaned up the outside of the building, fixed heating systems, replaced fences,
worked on kitchen improvements and responded to various day to day issues quickly and efficiently. Over the coming year, we’ve flooring to move forward with and I’m hoping we’ll continue the conversation regarding energy efficiency and look to balance cost with longer term benefits.
## 3. Accounts
The Accounts were reviewed, confirmed signed off by the auditor and accepted following a vote by Trustees. The Chairman placed on record his thanks to the auditor for their work.
## 4. Election of new members to Board of Trustees
No new members were elected; it was noted that Steve Croker had joined earlier in 2026.
## 5. Resignation of members from Board of Trustees
No resignations were made; it was noted that during the year two trustees had resigned and the Chairman placed on record his thanks to Len and Jenni.
## 6. AOB
The Chairman confirmed that he planned to focus on the admin side with the help of another trustee. Following discussion, Ian Parsons agreed to take on the position of Chairman for the upcoming year.
