given to it by a General Meeting.
The Executive Committee h&8 th¢ ￿￿er 8nd obligation to annually apwjint a Chairman. Vi¢evChAirn18n and
Treasurer from amongst its members. Th¢ Executive Committee also has the pow¢r to appoint remunernte such
employ¢¢$ and agertts (not in¢luding any of its own members) as it thinks fft. A Staff Manag¢ment Committ¢e
consists of the Chairman. Vice£hairnIa￿ Tre8surer and at le8St two p￿1¢ with experi¢nce of ￿aff ¢mployment.
The Executive Committee currently delegates th¢ day-tcAay operations of the Federntion to one p8rt time member of
staff. The member of staff is responsible for, but is not ¢x¢lusive to, OTg8nising raisin8 and ¢baritsblc events,
produ¢in8 promotional material and attending promotional ¢vent& attending 8nd recording miDUtes of meeting
administrating membership on behalf of Member Clubs and editing and distributing a Federntion newsletter that keeps
Member Clubs infonned of Federation business.
Tho Fed¢ration has an obligation to hold an Annual G¢neral Meeting within thr￿ months of the t¢rn)ination of its
fIn￿claI year. The business to be transacted includes the adoption of an Annual Report and Ststement of Accounts.
the election of a President and Vi¢e-Presidenrfs), the appoiniment of an Examiner and the Presentation of th¢ Annual
Rettsrn of MembeTship.

The Federgtion. in pursuit of its objects. Continues to offer trainin& ￿)CIal &ctiviti¢s, Com￿lti0nS and fim to any
young pffson who is int¢rtsicd in th¢ countrysidt ond relgted wbJ"ects.
The Member Clubs which the Federntion seryes. consists of members as￿ from 10 to 28 althou￿ the people who
a¢tually help run the Clubs are ag¢d from 10 upwards. Each club is responsible for arranging its own programme of
events with meetings on a weekly or fortnightly b￿ls. Tr activitiffj which range greatly, are geared towards the
clubs. objects which are wnsistent with tho% of the Fgdmtion. EJampleg of s￿ifiC adiviti¢5 inGlud¢ public
speakin& quizz¢s. farni walk& craft evenings. speaker& visits to placeg of interest and sp)rts. Some of these are
organised by the F¢d¢ration. Each individual member of the F￿eratIon'S M¢rnb¢r Clubs has the opportunity to
comrth in County Comp¢titions subj¢ct to wiThnin& progr￿ on to South East Area and Nation81 Finals.
The Federation continues all ye4r Tound with its efforts to rnise its profile and that of Mcmixr Clubs. Signifi¢8nt
driv¢s to raise the Profile of Berkshire Young F8rniers occurs at PIou8bing Matches and local Farn Open Days both
of which are open to the public. Th¢ County Federation also ende&vour5 to supFx)rt Member Clubs in undertaking their
own promotional events.
As ever the Foderalion 15 indebtsj to the generosity of 8 wid¢ range of sponsors and donors. The Federation valuw all
its sponsors and donors re

POLICTES
Reserves Policy
The restricted funds of the F￿erntlon repr￿t the value of cups aDd trophies aDd th¢ Lord Sieff Fund. The cups and
trophies serve a conttnuing PUnK>se in rewarding young meMb￿S who t*nefit from the Fed¢ration pursuing its
obj¢¢ts. The restrithd Lord Si¢ff Fund (see ￿t making ￿lLeY klow} is CUTrffltty managed with a view to making
awards that equate to th¢ donations and investment returns that the trust Ye￿iveS. Thi5 policy will allow the fimd to
continue to exist and allow individual members and Member Clubs to benefit OV¢T a long period of tffime.
The F¢dcration'$ unrestrthd funds have ac¢umulated over a number of years. These funds held by the Federation
with a view to m8intsining 8 prudent level of reserves that Ll)uJd be utilis¢d in the eve4rt of a bad owating year.
Grant Making Policy
The grant making fimction of the Federation is in the main wrdinat¢d from the restrictsj L￿rd Si¢ff Fund. The Lord
Sieff Fund may be (and is) onty used to mak¢ grants or loans to individual members of Member Clubs or to M¢mber
Clubs for specifi¢ projects of ￿ educational or personal developmcnt nature.
Inv¢sttnent Policy
The Federation's invthent assets represent amounts invested in COIF Charity Funds. The int¢ntion is to maintain OT
increas¢ reserves, which the F¢derntion can use to pursue its charitsbl¢ objects.
