Section D Achievements and erformance p
ẞ
| 1 | Review of bookings and revenue FY 2020/21 Having analysed all the bookings over the last two years, |
|---|---|
| bookings net income in 2020/21 has reduced from £16197 in | |
| 2019/20 to £1653 over the last year due to no bookings in the | |
| Covid lockdown periods and user groups reluctance to return to | |
| the Hall even when restrictions were lifted. | |
| 2 | Current reserves |
| The current reserves are £42671 after successfully applying for | |
| Covid grants of almost £20000 distributed by the Vale of White | |
| Horse District Council and furlough payments for our cleaner | |
| totalling over £2000 – an increase of £9188. | |
| 3 | Improvement projects |
| There were no major improvement projects over the year. | |
| 4 | Future projects: |
| a. Excavation and repair of the surface water drainage | |
| system in the main car park to prevent repeated flooding | |
| of the car park – estimated cost £5000. | |
| b. Conversion of hall gallery/mezzanine to new meeting room | |
| (£3000) | |
| c. Long term project - conversion of Committee Room and | |
| veranda to a community space (£30000) | |
| 5 | Setbacks |
| a. The year started with the Hall having closed due to the | |
| Government measures to curb the spread of the | |
| Covid-19 pandemic. | |
| b. Most of our regular user groups opted to carry over the | |
| credit for their cancelled bookings to their new | |
| bookings when the Hall re-opens and their sessions | |
| can resume. That will have a major impact on our | |
| revenue in FY 2021/22 when bookings resume as no | |
| new income will be generated from those bookings | |
| until the credit is used up. | |
| c. Several regular user groups have decided not to return | |
| to the Hall after the lockdown restrictions were eased | |
| and have ceased to operate. That will have an | |
| obvious impact on future booking revenue if we are | |
| unable to find new user groups. |

Hanney War Memorial Hall
Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Hanney War Memorial Hall
Year ended 31 March 2021
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Hanney War Memorial Hall (the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
