(eg. appointed by, elected by) Each nomination must be proposed and seconded and the election must be agreed at the AGM by support of a simple majority of eligible attendees according to the governance document. Additional training • dependant on requirements is provided on request and with the policies and procedures agreement of trustees through attendance at applicable workshops. - policies and procedures adopted for the induction and training of trustees; - The charity maintains close links with many local organisations with - • the charity’s organisational positions on the committee provided for the Parish Council, Blunham structure and any wider Cricket Club and Blunham Youth Football Club and through consultation network with which the charity within the village. works; - relationship with any related parties; - t rustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them. ## **Section C Objectives and activities** March **2012** **TAR** 2 **Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** As set out in the BSSC’s governing document, the aim and objectives of the Charity are to establish a Sports and Social Club that promotes and organises sporting, recreational, and social activities for the benefit of Blunham residents, Association members, affiliated organisations, and their guests. Furthermore, the BSSC aims to create and maintain facilities that support the activities of the Charity, reflecting the needs and preferences of Blunham residents and its stakeholders. During the course of the year the charity continued to develop the facilities available and provide social events. In delivering recreational and sporting activities the play area, sporting facilities and playing fields are provided free with access for the enjoyment of all. Blunham Playing Fields has continued to be maintained to a high level standard thanks to volunteers and local contractors, making it suitable to host county cricket matches, football matches and school sports days. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** The Pavilion on Blunham Playing Fields is advertised for hire to groups and individuals from the village and surrounding areas, and has been use by local businesses for corporate events, the County Council as a polling booth, individuals for private parties/events and local sports / recreational clubs. March **2012** **TAR** 3 **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** BSSC would like to express its gratitude for the help and support it has received from trustees, volunteers, villagers, sports clubs and the Parish Council who give up countless hours of voluntary service. Without this support it would not be possible for the Charity to provide and develop the facilities on Blunham Playing Fields and put on events such as Blunham’s Annual Fireworks Night and community music festivals / family days such as Party In The Park. You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: The BSSC has also begun investigating potential avenues for grant funding, such as The National Lottery, in order to secure investment to enhance the current facilities. - policy on grantmaking; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. ## Section D Achievements and performance March **2012** **TAR** 4 Section D Achievements and performance **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** ## **Events:** – The BSSC carried out several events during the period of January December 2024, including: - **80[th] Anniversary of D-Day Commemoration** – Street Party Event to commemorate the 80[th] anniversary of the D-Day Landings which took place on 6[th] June 1944. The day included 40s themed music and refreshments. - **Party In The Park 2024** – a vibrant, family-friendly music festival held at Blunham Playing Fields. The event brings together residents and visitors from the local community for a day of live music, food / drink vendors, and family-friendly activities (e.g. funfair rides). - **Blunham’s Annual Fireworks Night 2024** – Event held each autumn, which brings together the local community to watch a fireworks display. The event also contains live music, local food / drinks vendors and activities for children of all ages. All events engaged the wider community and were put on with the support of many local organisations, such as Blunham Village Hall, Blunham Parish Council, St Edmuns or St James Chuch, The Horseshoes Pub, Blunham Football Club and Blunham Cricket Club. ## **Grant Funding:** The BSSC secured **£16,504** in grant funding from The National Lottery, these fund were secured to invest in the follow: - New Pavilion Awnings x2 : £5574 - 12x Picnic Tables: £5256 - CCTV System: £1554 - Supply and fit 10x lights down driveway: £1620 - Internal Cabinets: £2500 These upgrades will help create a safer, more inclusive space for community interaction and events.
