To create a Sports and Social Club through which we promote and
organise sporting activities, recreation, and social activities to benefit the
residents of Blunham, members of the Association and affiliated
organisations and guests.
To develop suitable amenities for these activities in line with the wishes
of residents of Blunham and members.
During the course of the year the charity continued to develop the
facilities available and provide social events.
In delivering recreational and sporting activities the play area, sporting
facilities and playing fields are provided free with access for the
enjoyment of all.
The playing field has continued to be maintained to a high level suitable
to host county cricket matches, football matches and school sports days.
The pavilion is provided for hire to groups and individuals from the village
and surrounding areas, and has seen use by local businesses, County
Council for meetings and voting

BSSC would like to express its gratitude for the help and support it has received from volunteers, villagers, sports clubs and the Parish Council in order for us to continue to provide and develop the playing fields and putting on events such as the Fireworks and Party In The Park. The BSSC could not provide this service without the continued support of the village and local residents

The BSSC carried out several events during March 2023 – December 2023, including:

All events engaged the wider community and were put on with the support of many local organisations, such as Blunham Village Hall, Blunham Parish Council, St Edmuns or St James Chuch, The Horseshoes Pub, Blunham Football Club and Blunham Cricket Club.

This reporting period covers 1[st] March 2023 – 31[st] December 2023. The Charity has agreed to change its financial reporting period from MarchFebruary to January-December; in order to do this it requires to report on a shortened period as a one off adjustment.

Section F Other optional information

Neil Martin Grice stood down as BSSC Chair following an EGM on 5[th] December 2023. Following this decision Max Aaron Hurst and Richard Westhead took over the roles of Acting Co-Chairs to provide stability to the Charity until the next AGM.
