Activities
The College creates and maintains standards in ophthalmic training and practice, organises examinations and sets the curriculum. It maintains a CPD system and provides surgical skills courses for trainees. It organises scientific meetings, publishes a scientific journal and provides information on ophthalmic matters for practitioners and the general public.It encourages eye related research.
Objects: To (a) Advance The Science And Practise Of Ophthalmology (b) Educate Medical Practitioners In The Science And Practise Of Ophthalmology (c) Maintain Proper Standards In The Practise Of Ophthalmology For The Benefit Of The Public (d) Promote Study And Research Of Ophthalmology And Related Subjects And Publish The Useful Results Of Such Study And Research (e) Further Instruction On And Training In Ophthalmology Both In The United Kingdom And Overseas (f) Educate The General Public In All Matters Relating To Vision And The Health Of The Human Eye
