Trustees' Report y/e 31 July 2025

The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 July 2025.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in Note 1 to the accounts and comply with the charity constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice, “Accounting and Reporting by Charities”, issued in March 2005.

Structure, governance, and management

The charity was established by a charitable trust deed on 16 July 1987 and the Constitution was adopted on that date.

The trustees who served during the year were:

A Adepitan

M Sealy L Sugden M Calverley

J Smith

T Saunders

The charity is run by a management committee elected annually at the Annual General Meetings of the charity; from whom the trustees are then drawn by reason of the offices they hold.

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.

Objectives and activities

The objectives of the charity are to provide and encourage able and disabled persons who live in London and the surrounding areas to participate in the sport of wheelchair basketball and to provide and assist in the provision of facilities in the form of equipment and coaching.

The charity is dependent on unpaid work of the management committee, who organise social and fundraising events, together with training and competitive matches but who are not in receipt of other goods or services which are not reflected in the financial statements.

Much of the role of the Trustees at Titans is to ensure that the running of the club is legal, fair and safe. Each Trustee holds a legally binding responsibility to Titans; we all endeavour to do our utmost to ensure that everyone in the club has the best possible experience with us.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

As, no doubt it will be said elsewhere, Titans could not run without our fabulous LBW, the committee, and the forces for good that are our coaches, officials, do-ers of stuff and logistics magicians. From the Trustees - we thank every one of you. We know it’s tough and we appreciate absolutely everything you do.

As Trustees, we’ve been working hard over the last 3 years to create a solid pathway within the club, attracting new talent at all levels and forming a safe, supportive environment that welcomes anyone who wants to participate in our sport.

Safeguarding, compliance, succession planning and (occasionally) liaising with BWB come with none of the glorious feelings of a hard fought win (or the scoreboard at Stanmore getting through a match without hooting at a random time). However, these are the foundations that we are building the next few seasons of Titans on. Titans are proud. We’re safe. We’re welcoming. We want to do well. We are #TitanPride and we believe in our #TitanFamily

Behind the scenes we’re financially stable and aware, we take our responsibilities to our members, our sport and the wider disabled community seriously and we’re committed to providing the highest levels of safeguarding we possibly can - at all times.

Getting to this point has required some tough conversations and decisions - but without them nothing would happen. It will always be a work in progress but if we don’t try, we’ll never know!

Achievements and performances

An overview of the 2024/25 season can be found in the 'Season Overview' section of the Annual Report.

We continue to collect annual membership fees, raise funds and receive donations towards the running costs of the club. We are continuing to develop relationships with sponsors and partners who are crucial in enabling the club to develop and grow, details of these sponsors can be found in the 'Sponsorship and Funding' section of the Annual Report.

Financial Review

For the year ended 31st July 2025, the charity generated funds of £64,934 (2024 - £79,326) giving rise to a surplus of £26,191 (2024 - £48,727 surplus).

The charity received one final amount of £22,000 from Pladis as part of the partnership which came to an end in December 2024. Expenditure is higher than last year due to court hire, coach & player expenses being higher. As was the case last year, the largest expenditure for this year were court hire, EuroCup, match expenses (including expenses for all officials) and fundraiser & admin costs.

Partnership income in the accounts related to funds received from Pladis and the club’s new partnership with RGK. As part of the deal with RGK the club received 10 wheelchairs valued at £15,000, which have been recognised in partnership income and have been listed as club assets. During the financial year we have also received money from Heathrow partners amounting to £12,600. This funding came about due to the efforts of the players and coaches who attended the Copperbox session with the Heathrow partners in November 2024.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

Subscriptions were charged to members for the 2025/26 season on 31st July, in line with previous years. The timing of this charge has made the club debtors appear worse than they are. Of the debtors, £6,160 (2024 - £7,045) are relating to the 2025/26 season, with £500 (2024 - £1,067) being historic debt. Due to a large number of people at the club now paying via GoCardless, a lot of the historic debt is due to the timing differences between when the charge was created on their accounts and when the direct debit was created. The vast number of members are paying or setting up direct debits without a need to be chased, thank you!

The reserves as at the end of the financial year under review amounted to £124,684 (2024 - £98,493).

We have recently changed the club bank account to improve usability and services available while also reducing costs. If you make payments into the CAF account, please be aware that it will be officially closed in the coming months.

To raise the level of professionalism within the club, we are encouraging players and coaches to claim expenses in line with the expenses policy. We are also keen to be able to pay coaches for their time and have applied for funding to enable us to do so. We are also able to cover the cost of courses for club members to train as a coach, table official, referee or statistician. Please let one of the committee members know if this is something you would be interested in.

On behalf of the board of trustees

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

Chairman's Report

On behalf of myself and Ade I’d like to thank you all for attending the 2025 London Titans AGM. It’s been another extremely busy year with Titans with multiple successes on and off the court. It’s mine and Ade's duty to dive in here and thank the many avenues and corners that many of us drive in different ways to make this club achieve so well.

I start my thanks to all of the players, both experienced competitors to the many new faces trying it out for the first time with us. Being able to field a team in every division is no small task, but it’s not achievable without the commitment and passion that every player chooses to bring to London Titans. We have so many examples of players that push the boundaries of talent, commitment and team spirit, and those players set the standard in each of our competing divisions. This in turn inspires and drives the next player to say to themselves “I want to get to that level”. It’s an honour that our Titans club is able to harness and facilitate this full scale journey of wheelchair basketball.

The last year has brought many new faces to try our sport, and it’s been a project we as coaches and members of the committee have strived to build since 2020. There are many ways our club have achieved our own paths to player recruitment, and those will be mentioned in turn. The most exciting thing to see out of this are the amount of enquiries we’ve been able to answer to from people showing an interest to try our sport for the first time, along with experienced players coming from other clubs. This shows that our values, principals, goals and level of community are all appealing and projecting what people want to be a part of.

The next in line to thank are the coaches- Adam, Louise, Rob, Ade O. We have a small but expanding group of coaches that have immense levels of knowledge of the game. We are so lucky to have them on board, giving up their own time to drive each team through the season. Our coaches are always ready to take on multiple challenges at once. From matches to development, coaching high experienced players, to players that are holding a basketball for the first time. I thank every one of you for having each others back and making sure that we always have someone leading the way at any time Titans are on the court. A special thanks to the newly qualified coaches over the last year that are doing their part to share their experience of the game. A number of masterclass sessions were delivered by Sophie, Tyler and Jude over the summer which drew great attendance from our players. Each session displayed different areas of the game and the coaches delivered them with professional experience and knowledge of the top end of the game. We look forward to seeing more of this next year!

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

I now thank our committee who drive the club effortlessly (at a view from outside). As I said before, it’s been no small task! But our committee show passion and determination to consistently find ways to make our ship run as smoothly as possible. From maintaining the club structure, to creating new policies and rules, they work together to share ideas from their own professional knowledge to strive our club to be the best.

The most admirable thing to note is that no committee member focus on one job. They pull their weight in gold to the many areas of task needed to keep our club running.

Louise has done another fantastic job as treasurer. Our club has never been more financially stable and we couldn’t ask for anyone better that loves numbers and spreadsheets! She also takes on many other club jobs tirelessly too- fixture cross checking, creating table officiating and coaching schedules, to coaching teams and sessions to name a few.

Thanks to Adam who seems to hold the base of our clubs coaching year after year. He still plays too which comes at no small task! The countless Saturday sessions coached by Adam makes him a vital part of our club to carry both new and experienced players learning the game from him.

We were sad to see Rob finish his last season as coach for London Titans. He was the ultimate players coach, as so many kind words and messages spread through our club community about him. His court knowledge was unmatched, his warm personality was infectious to everyone courtside with him. Rob, we thank you so much for your service and we always have our doors open to you if you want a return.

Onto the Smiths family, and without these guys, we have anarchy! Jenny supplies the wisdom and diplomatic touches needed when our club needs formality. She is a vital committee member that can bring reason and expert advice to any of our committee meetings. Like others she gives up a large amount of personal time to oversee many of our club policies and structure, alongside driving her two around the earth to matches and training!

We also thank Jenny and Alice as our Table officials, alongside Pat, Vicky. Another fantastic group of individuals that lead the way with top tier table officiating.

To our media side on the table- Giles and Louise for stats, you do a great job keeping the numbers straight!

Izem is someone I now thank and congratulate for their efforts in streaming our games last season. We set out to improve our visibility as a club, and they have done this to the Nth degree. From only streaming prem division the previous season, Izem has streamed every home match in every division of ours. An ultimate benchmark of our club, we all Thankyou so much for this.

I welcome our newest members to the committee, Keely and Louise. We look forward to seeing you both working with the club and taking on any of the many roles behind the scenes!

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

I now move onto thanking the one and only Godmother of our club. There is no one I can think of that drives more passion and love towards our club single-handedly. Lisa has smashed duties above and beyond her official role within the club. We recently as a committee decided to branch out our club email contacts to split the many areas that our club takes in information and enquiries. It’s when our committee curated this list of areas to make email titles, that we realise that Lisa has had her hands and brain working on every one of them for the last year.

The areas that stand out to most of you and people from the outside of our club doors, is her excellent eye catching creativity on social media. We thank her efforts for making our club more visible than any other club, possibly across the world! Fixture Fridays, match results, sponsor posts, creating and resharing stories that link to our club. There is no area that is missed.

Lisa’s key role in the club being fundraiser continues to be a vital backbone to the future of our future. In the last year alone she has sourced, maintained and initiated multiple key partners that support our club both financial and club growth capacity.

One of the most important group of partnerships Lisa has also developed has now give our club an open route for new players to join our club. Partnerships with RNOH, GOSH, Wheelpower, Parallel, Whizkidz to name a few have resulted in new player enquiries. We look forward to continuing our annual events with them in years to come. I urge more Titans members to get involved when we host these events to spread our name and sport to wider audiences.

An extra special thanks goes to those that helped out at the Guildhall yard demo. The coverage we received from BBC that afternoon reached over a million views!

I will only whisper the other gruelling task of fixtures that Lisa’s organised mapping makes does to make sure the teams are ready to go every season. She makes sure that each team avoids clashes with other divisions, allowing our players to play into higher divisions and develop their playing potential. There are many other cogs to list within the fixture planning that are turned single handed by her. We do desperately seek other club members to step in and help in this department of our club in the future, to ensure Lisa can focus more of her time on the job title as fundraiser. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for your commitment and time.

Thankyou to RGK for a continued sponsorship deal. The 10 new chairs they provided us are in regular use by players and for try out events. It’s very comforting to know our club gets support, chairs and parts from the best supplier in the world of wheelchair basketball equipment!

To finish up my final thanks, I finally thank our match and training venues. Aspire, Bushey, Guru Nanak. The court time facilities our club to success, and the testament of two of our teams reaching the 24/25 season playoffs speaks volumes.

I now timely pass on to the coaches of each division to round up the last year of their teams 24/25 journey.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

Premier Division

Our Premier team endured a challenging season with many ups and downs. With both player and coach absences, one of the biggest challenges in this season was finding consistency in lineups. That being said, the team finished the league strong with 9 wins and 3 losses.

Three of our home wins over our three strongest rivals - Jaguars, Steelers and Revolution proved we had a title winning squad. All three of these wins had different players missing from our squad, but we maintained our strong core defensive values and outstanding offensive scoring to seal the wins. However, the return match losses against these three teams who claimed bigger point margins meant we finished 3rd going into the National League Playoffs.

The season proved to be a learning curve as we started poorly with a first loss to Jaguars, a narrow overtime win against Rockets, and then an away loss to Sheffield. Something we are now rectifying by improving our preseason training.

Our Eurocup 2 qualifiers in March 2025 took us to the familiar Swiss Dragon’s home, which is the third time Titans have visited this club for a Euro round! Once again our club was well looked after by our connections at Heathrow Airport ensuring a smooth journey with all our chairs and luggage.

The competition as always gives Titans the opportunity to square up against the professional levels in Europe. Playing in Eurocup two qualifiers means the top two teams from each pool group progress to finals. At minimum we needed 3 wins to secure a finals spot.

Our first game against home rivals Manchester had all of our cards in the right place with a win the previous week at Aspire. But unfortunately Manchester worked us out, along with perhaps a combination of nerves and complacency from us. Revs pulled a reverse comfortable win over us. That evening though, we regrouped and settled with a comfortable win over Dutch team Only friends.

Day two and we faced hosts Dragons who had beaten Manchester the previous day, so our biggest challenge was set with a must win to advance and force a potential 3 way tie. Our defence got to a great start denying inside scoring and jumping their key outside threat. From strength to strength we built our winning performance each quarter and pulled our best win of the weekend.

Into game 4 against the Turkish side who had dominated every other team in their campaign. Unfortunately after the first quarter they proved too strong for us, with Gazisehir securing their 4th win with outstanding team shooting percentages.

Titans finished in third place with no final progression. With thoughts to come away with and the ultimate price to pay in realising that every point matters, the three way tie for second place could have been different had we have narrowed the loss against Manchester?

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

Back to the National League and 3 games left for Titans before playoffs. Manchester away was our third time meeting them in 3 consecutive weeks. With our hopes of wiping of clean slate and bringing back winning ways, it was unfortunately proven wrong. Manchester pulled yet another convincing win over us with a bigger point margin than our win against them at home. Another example of making every point count, we were in a position to allow a maximum 17 point deficit to claim a higher league finish than them.

Two final away wins over Lothian and Mohawks secured us 3rd place. Big thanks to Ade Orogbemi for stepping in as coach at the Scottish away match, I had a terrible case of food poisoning, grounding me at the airport hotel. Note to self, never eat £5 calamari at an airport hotel restaurant….

To make things even more disrupted, my sudden illness at the end of April took me out from the rest of the season. I apologise profusely for having to leave the team going into playoffs. Hats off to Louise for taking on the job of coaching both Premier and her Division One team. With back to back matches following her main Division One team, A very hard fought match over Jaguars in the semi final could have gone either way. But jaguars narrowly scored during the final 4 possessions taking a 3 point win.

This led Titans to our final showdown with Manchester. Neither two teams expected to meet this way, but with four strong teams in the finals that weekend, it was always hard to call. But so be it, we played for third and fourth place. Another hard match saw some great performances from our players, but it wasn’t enough to seal the final chapter.our final loss settled us in fourth place for the 24/25 season.

This match leads me into my humbling thoughts towards this team. Each of them give up a large amount of their lives to be a part of this premier squad, and put in countless hours of personal training every week to build the standard our club believes is as elite as we can be. Without the commitment they all put in, we wouldn’t be showcasing the performances this team put out year by year.

Thank you to Bushey Meads school for continued mid week team training, and thank you to the team for another exciting season. I look forward to opening the next chapter in 25/26!

Division One South

The division one team once again saw the return of many familiar faces within the squad, including the return of Sophie Paterson after some time away from national league basketball. There were also the welcome additions of Sammy Rehman from CWBA and Joel Clifton from Plymouth Fusion. These additions combined with the already strong squad made for an exciting season ahead.

After an admin error meaning that the team’s first match away to Aces didn’t go ahead, we finally got started in October with a very comfortable win away to Southern Sharks. It was then another 6 weeks until the next fixture but the team were ready and dominated against the Cardiff Met Archers.

In the last match before the Christmas break we had our first big test. Despite a fantastic team effort and bringing things level at the end of the 3rd quarter, we couldn’t get the win against a very strong Aces team.

The teams first match back after the break was also against Aces but multiple players suffering from seasonal illnesses had a massive affect on our performance. The remainder of the season saw the division one team bring home win after win, except for a blip against Plymouth away, and secured their place at the National Championship Finals.

At Finals, we couldn’t get the win to get the team into the gold medal match but we did play off against Aces in the bronze match. In an absolutely thrilling match, we finally got the win against Aces that we’d been searching for all season, winning 65-57.

Coaching this team across the 24/25 season is up there as one of my favourite seasons as a coach. Having such a talented group that was so willing to learn and work together was all I could ask for.

Special mention has to be made of Joel Clifton who was not only top point scorer across the season, but also hugely motivational and supportive within the squad. We will miss him in the division one squad as he’s promoted to a named Premier Division player for the coming season.

Division Two South

For the 24/25 season our division two team saw some new additions in Conal & PJ O’Donovan, two young and talented players. It also saw Mo Khan back from injury and Giles Smith taking the step up from division three to become regular members in the squad.

The team began their season in October with a solid win against Reading Rockets, quickly followed by another comprehensive win against Brixton at home.

This impressive winning streak continued well into the new year until the squad came up against a very strong CWBA team at the end of March. The match saw us travel with just 6 players and the lack of rotation made the match incredibly difficult, especially as the opposition pressed for the entirety!

The away match at Cardiff also proved to be a difficult one and despite the team's best efforts, we were unable to secure the win with a 55-50 loss. Unfortunately, one final loss against High Rollers meant that the division two team finished 3rd in the league and therefore didn’t secure a place at the National Championship Finals.

Despite the difficult end of the season, the team has a huge amount to be proud of. It’s been a pleasure watching the players within the team develop across the season, taking more responsibility and developing their relationships on & off the court. We are sad to see so many players leaving the division two team after the 24/25 season but wish them all well in the future.

Rob Whale was a huge influence on the team and a player who led from the front. His experience helped guide the team to many impressive wins over the course of the season, enabling the team to secure the 3rd place finish.

Division Three South

The 2024/25 season was all about development and opportunity for Titans 4. Our ethos was to provide valuable game time for newer players, and across twelve fixtures we saw tremendous growth.

Despite a 3–9 record, there were real highlights—most notably every travelling player making the scoresheet against Thames Valley Kings and the way we narrowed the points deficit in reverse fixtures against the league’s stronger sides.

A special shoutout goes to Lauren, whose positive attitude towards new coaching directives and positions at times, combined with her exponential growth from the start of the season was a joy to witness.

We faced some challenges with limited squad depth on away trips and often matched up against taller line-ups, but the commitment, resilience, and willingness to learn from everyone involved was really great to see.

In the 25/26 season, we are excited to see a wealth of new talent coming into the division three team. We hope that, across the season, we will find a balance to enable the experienced players to lead and help develop the new players within the squad. It is a hugely exciting time for the club with so many new players and this is enabling us to enter an Inspire League team for the first time. We hope that this will give our new players more opportunities to play the sport in an environment to help them thrive.

As I wheel away from my coaching role, I want to thank every player I’ve coached and the Titans committee for trusting me with this opportunity. It’s been an honour to contribute to the club’s journey.

Women's League Division One

This season was undoubtedly a tough one for Titans Women, finishing winless at 0–8. However, the record doesn’t fully capture the determination and heart shown on court.

The biggest challenge was consistency in the roster through no fault of the players themselves. Every round brought new faces or unavoidable absences, making it difficult to build chemistry or rhythm. Even so, each game featured great individual performances and unwavering effort that reflected the Titans spirit.

Going into the 25/26 season, the team will be playing in division two and this presents an exciting opportunity to build a team that will grow and develop together. We hope this will reduce the inconsistencies within the roster and we are excited about the group of players going forward.

As I leave the club, I want to express my gratitude to every athlete who represented Titans Women. There is serious talent in this group, and I have no doubt future seasons will showcase it even more. Thank you for your effort, resilience, and for representing the club with pride and determination.

The Titans Women’s League team has laid a solid foundation for future success. With the lessons learned this season, we look forward to building on our strengths and tackling the next season with renewed energy and determination. Thank you to all players, coaching staff, and supporters for your hard work and commitment. Go Titans!

Juniors Under 18

Our junior team combined forces with Aces this season due to players that aged out of both clubs in the previous 23/24 season. TitanAces were officially formed and ready to take on the new season together! Although this strengthened a mix of experience and newer players, coached by myself and Aces coach Zviko, it’s an unfortunate time to see so few clubs entering junior teams across the entire UK.

Our small south division opponents had only Cardiff and Swansea, who we were scheduled to face 3 times each during the season.

Our first home round at Aspire showed a bright start to our newly combined team with a win of 70-25 over Cardiff. With Swansea unable to field a team in this round, we decided to split our team off to play a mixed friendly against Cardiff again. Despite cracks forming in the already small southern division, TitanAces were able to display a broad amount of experienced talent and supporting roles from newer players integrating into lineups.

Round two in early January 2025 was a proposed trip to Swansea. However a repeat lack of players meant Swansea were unable to field a team again, forcing them to forfeit wins to us.

The third and final round thankfully went ahead and we made the final away trip to Cardiff Met Archers Arena. 2 wins for TitanAces, 70-19 against Swansea and 75-13 against Cardiff, meant we finished clearly top of our division going into playoffs. The large win margins gave us hope that we as a team would be ready to face the much tougher opponents from the north division.

Playoffs at the Wildcats Arena in Nottingham saw our team face much more experienced opponents from the north division, including Warwickshire Bears, Lothian Phoenix and Mohawks. The weekend started with a marked minute of silence by every team, staff and spectator in the sports hall to honour and respect the sad and tragic passing of our junior player Thomas Winter Holmes. Thomas was a fiercely competitive player for our Junior team in the 23/24 season. Although relatively new to the game, he showed a great understanding of the game. His chair skills were fast and aggressive with a lot of energy, which inspired the rest of the team to match. He showed great team spirit and followed the coaches instructions the minute he entered the court, with a loud prominent voice that intimidated any of our opponents!

Thomas found his love for basketball alongside fellow teammates Connor and Landen with Southern Sharks. We were honoured when his Mum Melanie and Connor’s Mum Toni reached out to us for the three enthusiastic boys to come and play for our junior team. I often think of Tom when I coach our juniors in matches. The vocal energy and physical fight he brought to the team is what I use as a benchmark to inspire the current squad we have to success.

I welcome mum Melanie to stay a part of the future Titans family moving into the future generations of our Junior team, as we hold Tom in our thoughts.

The first playoff match vs Warwickshire Bears was the start of a much trickier weekend of

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

opponents to what we faced in our season rounds. Two experienced players from Bears forced our team to face bigger challenges in defence with speed, sharp ball movement and great shooting percentages. TitanAces answered with matched scoring from outside range and some cuts to the basket. But where we struggled to find a consistent inside presence, Bears were quick to respond with transition baskets and mismatches. This cost us a tricky point margin to narrow down and a final score of 61-40. Our second and final match of the day to sign off 5th/6th place brought us back up against Cardiff. A repeated comfortable win of 49-24 enabled our team to enjoy fielding everyone from our squad to equal minutes. The day finished on a high with smiles across the team despite not finishing higher.

It’s always an honour and privilege to work with the future of our sport. This season I was blessed with a vibrant and talented group of players from two clubs to coach. Working alongside Aces to keep our junior league alive is what it will take in the interim to rebuild. I’m confident that our club’s efforts to find new players will pay off in the coming years, and we will strive to develop them into the next stars of our sport.

Our funding focus (in priority order) for 2024/25 was:

As we look back on an extraordinary year and forward to the 2025/26 season, our reflections are filled with pride and anticipation. The year has been marked by remarkable achievements, underscored by the vital role of sponsorship and funding—elements central to our mission of fostering inclusion, community, and sportsmanship.

SPORT ENGLAND

In a significant leap forward for community sports, London Titans have proudly secured crucial funding from Sport England’s Movement Fund. This esteemed partnership underscores a shared vision for embracing physical activity and fostering inclusive sports environments throughout the nation.

The Movement Fund, which invests over £20 million annually, derived from National Lottery and government funds, is tailored to uplift initiatives that combat inactivity and address deep-rooted inequalities in sports participation. Aligned with Sport England’s 'Uniting the Movement' strategy, the fund prioritizes supporting underrepresented groups, including people living with disabilities, those on low incomes, and individuals from diverse cultural communities, amongst others.

The London Titans' successful funding bid enables the securement of our Saturday training sessions. Given that more home games are now set for Sundays, this funding plays a crucial role in providing consistent, quality training opportunities for our dedicated players. This investment holds the promise of enhancing the lives of individuals and propelling community engagement across the board.

Sport England’s funding is more than financial support; it’s a testament to belief in the power of sport and the London Titans' mission to create a vibrant, active community.

We extend our gratitude to Sport England and look forward to an active and progressive season in 2025/26.

Building Brand Awareness

In today's competitive market, establishing and maintaining brand awareness is crucial for any entity, including sports teams and their partners. For organisations like London Titans, leveraging comprehensive live game feeds, strategic media coverage, and co-branded merchandise are effective strategies to enhance visibility and strengthen brand identity. As well as visibility at key events throughout the year, our mission is when people thinking about our sport they think TITANS.

This past year at London Titans has been nothing short of remarkable. Our dedication to community engagement, and fostering talent has shone through in all our endeavours. Without the commitment from so many of you to attend and getting involved none of this would be possible, so thank you. We are proud to compile this report highlighting our events and achievements over the past twelve months.

AT ASPIRE

Having a presence for every home game ensures that the brand remains top of mind for fans and viewers, regardless of the game's magnitude. Signs and posters have also been strategically placed around our home venue.

Traditionally, only premier games receive the lion's share of live broadcast coverage. However, streaming as many games as possible, has significantly widened viewer reach and, by extension, brand exposure. This approach not only keeps dedicated fans engaged but also brings in casual viewers who might tune in to broadcasts available on various platforms. Big shout to Izem, for their support on this in the past season.

SOCIAL MEDIA

At the heart of every grassroots sports club lies a mission to inspire, connect, and grow the community. Social media is no longer just a tool—it's a game-changer in reaching wider audiences, sharing our passion, and building the next generation of athletes.

This season, we've taken the leap to evolve with the times, moving away from traditional platforms like X and diving headfirst into TikTok to engage with the younger demographic. By showcasing the energy, excitement, and inclusivity of our club, we aim to fuel our junior push—bringing new talent, fresh perspectives, and loads of enthusiasm into the Titans family.

From bite-sized highlights showcasing our action-packed games to behind-the-scenes moments that give followers a real taste of grassroots basketball, TikTok is helping us connect on a whole new level. Together, through social, we’re not just growing our club— we’re shaping the future of grassroots sports.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

Here are just some of 2024/25 highlights on and off court:

RNOH SESSIONS

After a slow start, we’re thrilled to share the incredible progress we’ve made in fostering a meaningful relationship with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH)—our neighbours next door. Over the past year, the London Titans have worked closely with RNOH to bring bi-monthly sessions to their recovering patients, offering them a supportive space to get active, engage with others, and connect with Titans who share lived experiences.

Our goal is simple: to be an open book of support—providing a pathway to recovery through activity, encouragement, and community. These sessions not only promote physical rehabilitation but also offer a positive, empowering atmosphere through the shared strength of sport.

Looking forward, we’re particularly excited to engage with pediatric patients at RNOH, giving younger individuals the opportunity to join the Titans family and discover their potential through adaptive basketball.

A huge thank you to Matt Sealy for taking the lead on this incredible initiative. We can’t wait to see how this relationship grows and the amazing impact it will have on the lives of RNOH patients in the coming year.

THE VARIETY CLUB DISABILITY SPORTS AWARDS

Back in November also saw us attending the incredibly vibrant Variety, the Children's Charity GB Disability Sports Awards held at the glamorous Soho Theatre last night. It was an honour for our own Tyler and Izem to represent the London Titans at such a prestigious event. The awards night was nothing short of spectacular, celebrating the incredible achievements of athletes with disabilities and shining a light on the extraordinary talents and determination within the disabled sports community.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

The evening was filled with inspiring stories, laughter, and recognition of the hard work and dedication of these amazing athletes and the organisations that support them. It was a reminder of the power of sports to change lives, break down barriers, and foster a more inclusive society.

GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL GET ACTIVE DAY 2025

June 2025 was a vibrant beginning to the summer with the highly anticipated Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust Get Active Day on Saturday, June 21, at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre. With more than 600 children and young people participating, the event was not just a day of activities, but a celebration of community, resilience, and the spirit of sport.

The day kicked off at 10 AM and was energetically opened by fitness icon Joe Wicks. His involvement underscored the importance of fitness in child health and well-being. Wicks didn't just lend his name to the event; he actively participated and tried out various sports, engaging with the participants and motivating them throughout the day. From 10 AM to 4 PM, attendees had the opportunity to engage in over 45 different sports and activities. This inclusive setup ensured there was something for everyone - from athletics to team sports, and more creative physical activities. It was a fantastic sight to see so many young people trying new sports and finding joy in physical activity. Wheelchair basketball, a highlight once again captured the crowd’s attention with its fast-paced action and the impressive skill of the players.

PARALLEL WINDSOR

In the midst of the bustling excitement at Parallel Lifestyle, Parallel Windsor at the beginning of July, London Titans stood out with their high spirits and an invigorating showcase of wheelchair basketball. Despite the rain, our Titan spirit remained unshaken. Raindrops may have peppered the Sense and Decathlon UK Arena, but our passion for the sport was far from dampened.

Adapting to Challenges

When nature decided to test our resolve, London Titans did what they do best — we adapted swiftly. Moving our basketball hoop and a few chairs closer to our stand, we created an impromptu court that welcomed a continuous stream of attendees eager to try their hand at wheelchair basketball alongside our team members.

There’s a unique kind of magic that happens when someone shoots and scores their first basket. Watching people trying wheelchair basketball for the first time was a poignant reminder of the joy and energy sports can bring into our lives. It was an incredible day filled with laughter, cheers, and shared experiences that transcended the wet weather.

Through the rain, London Titans not only showcased our sport but also the enduring spirit of resilience and community that our team embodies. The event wasn't just significant for our athletes and the club; it forged connections with RGK Wheelchairs, the community,

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

enlightening them about wheelchair basketball and London Titans. It broadened awareness and understanding, fostering new bonds and garnering support for adaptive sports. We extend a hearty thank you to everyone who braved the weather and joined us at Parallel Windsor. It’s your enthusiasm and embrace of new experiences that amplify our mission and make events like these unforgettable.

Going Above and Beyond

We would like to take a moment to shine the spotlight on the unsung heroes who played an integral role behind the scenes Wilson James and their dedicated team. Logistics are the backbone of any successful event, and Wilson James has proved to be a stalwart supporter of the Titans. Getting our equipment to Parallel Windsor and GOSH amidst the complexities of organizing and executing such events is no small feat. Yet, the professionalism, efficiency, and dedication displayed by Wilson James ensured that everything we needed was right where it had to be, when it had to be there. Plus big shout out to Johanna Wagstaffe (from Heathrow) on Sunday for being a Titans champion and VIP, you made such a difference to our first Parallel event.

JUNIOR LUNCH CLUB

This summer brought with it the promise of new adventures, and London Titans offered a unique way for young people to explore the exhilarating world of wheelchair basketball. Back in July, we were beyond excited to launch the Junior Lunch Club, arm-in-arm with the phenomenal Helen Freeman, a Paralympic athlete who knows what it means to strive for greatness.

Why this was a must for young athletes

The London Titans Junior Lunch Club wasn’t your average summer activity. It was a chance to be mentored by some of the best in the sport, including the inspiring Helen Freeman, and to come to grips with the fundamentals of teamwork in sports. Here are some reasons to get geared up for this:

These action-packed get-togethers are sponsored by Allwyn, the operator of the National Lottery, as part of the incredible ChangeMakers initiative. This campaign leverages the influential voices of Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes to advocate for impactful social change.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2025

Adding an international flair to our club this summer, we are honoured to include a visiting young fan and his family from Japan. It's a beautiful reminder of the global community of wheelchair basketball and the shared passion that transcends borders.

As a result of the Junior Lunch Club sessions, we are proud to say the club has three new under 16 players who are regularly attending training on our Saturday sessions. Two of these players have signed to play in our junior league team for the 25/26 season and things are looking positive for the club being able to field a Titans only team in the next few years.

These sessions showed us that there are many children out there who want to play wheelchair basketball and as a club we need to continue to work hard to find ways to reach more people. We are incredibly grateful to Helen Freeman for asking us to assist her with this project and we hope it is something that we can do again in the future.

A Diverse Celebration for All

The festival was a testament to inclusivity and diversity, offering something for every enthusiast.
