Trustees' Report y/e 31 July 2024

The trustees present their report and accounts for the year ended 31 July 2024.

The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in Note 1 to the accounts and comply with the charity constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice, “Accounting and Reporting by Charities”, issued in March 2005.

Structure, governance, and management

The charity was established by a charitable trust deed on 16 July 1987 and the Constitution was adopted on that date.

The trustees who served during the year were:

A Adepitan

M Sealy L Sugden M Calverley

J Smith

A McMullen

The charity is run by a management committee elected annually at the Annual General Meetings of the charity; from whom the trustees are then drawn by reason of the offices they hold.

The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.

Objectives and activities

The objectives of the charity are to provide and encourage able and disabled persons who live in London and the surrounding areas to participate in the sport of wheelchair basketball and to provide and assist in the provision of facilities in the form of equipment and coaching.

The charity is dependent on unpaid work of the management committee, who organise social and fundraising events, together with training and competitive matches but whom are not in receipt of other goods or services which are not reflected in the financial statements.

Achievements and performances

An overview of the 2023/24 season can be found in the 'Season Overview' section of the Annual Report.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

We continue to collect annual membership fees, raise funds and receive donations towards the running costs of the club. We are continuing to develop relationships with sponsors and partners who are crucial in enabling the club to develop and grow, details of these sponsors can be found in the 'Sponsorship and Funding' section of the Annual Report.

Financial Review

The charity generated funds of £79,326 (2023 - £24,962) giving rise to a surplus of £48,727 (2023 - £6,851 deficit)

The charity has brought in more than previously thanks to the partnership with Pladis. Expenditure is less than in the previous year but this is due to smaller EuroCup expenses than normal by over £5,000. The largest expenditure for this year was court hire, EuroCup, match expenses (including expenses for all officials) and fundraiser & admin costs.

We’ve now had a full year of being charged for the Saturday training sessions which is reflected in the big increase in Court Hire expenses. We also arranged fortnightly training sessions for Div 1 & 2 during the 23/24 season which increased Court Hire expenses.

The club updated the expenses policy for players and coaches in early 2023 which has led to a rise in cost in this area. Items included within Other Expenses are the posters to promote the club and website hosting.

Partnership income in the accounts related to a new partnership with Pladis and renewed support from Heathrow Express. During the financial year we have also received money from PTS, Vodafone / Tinman and Enterprise.

Subscriptions were charged to members for the 2024/25 season on 31st July, in line with previous years. The timing of this charge has made the club debtors appear worse than they are. Of the debtors, £6,654 (2023 - £4,896) are relating to the 2024/25 season, with £1,067 (2023 - £1,457) being historic debt. Due to a large number of people at the club now paying via GoCardless, a lot of the historic debt is due to the timing differences between when the charge was created on their accounts and when the direct debit was created.

The reserves as at the end of the financial year under review amounted to £98,493 (2023 - £49,766).

On behalf of the board of trustees

Chairman's Report

It’s my great pleasure to be able to deliver my first ever Chairman’s report to you all in person, at what probably is also my first ever appearance at a London Titan’s AGM. I’m not sure if Ian Laker could’ve imagined all those decades ago when I first joined the team in its first guise as Hounslow force that one day I would be chairman of his team! Have some of that Laker!!

Big thank you to Matt, and Tyler who both convinced me to take up the role as chairman after 6 hours of maniacal drinking at Christy Gregan’s stag do in Prague. Deciding to accept the position confirmed to me something that I have long suspected and am now certain of, some of our greatest life choices are made after imbibing copious amounts of alcohol. It’s also true some of our worst life choices are made after copious amounts of alcohol, anyone who’s been in this team long enough will remember Aaron’s decision to dye his hair green! I rest my case.

All joking aside, I am really enjoying my new role at Titan’s especially as I am planning to write into the team’s constitution that the Chairman should be allowed a minimum of 40 minutes playing time per game! If only my body could handle it. Before I move on I just want to say to everyone in the team I’m always here if you want to have a chat get something off your chest that is Titan’s related. My day job keeps me very busy but I’m happy for you to email me or pass on a message via Matt or Louise and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. I’m also going to try and make as many Saturday sessions as I can, not just so I can train, but mainly so I can interact with other members of the Titans outside of the Premier team.

Domestically last season for the premier team was probably one of our best after successfully regaining our title of Premier league champions at the Essex arena. It was wonderful to see the progression of the premier team over the course of the season after two potential season ending losses early doors against Manchester Revolution and Sheffield Steelers. Titan’s pride shone through after we went back to the drawing board and worked our rear ends off in training resulting in two dominant playoff performances demonstrating to everyone in this league why we deserved to be champions. I’d like to give special praise to Coach Matt Sealy who had a steep learning curve but showed why he has the potential to be one of the UK’s greatest coaches, leading the team with poise of the court and steely determination on it. We’re lucky to have him.

This season I am going to try and get to more of our first and second division games so hopefully in next year's report I can wax lyrical about their performances too. I was actually

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

on the verge of driving to the first division game against Aces with Bolla who was desperate to watch the game, until I saw on the WhatsApp group that the fixture had been cancelled. There will be more opportunities.

I was super happy to help develop Titan’s partnership with pladis. Massive thanks to Lisa, Louise and Matt for helping get that deal across the line. I’m disappointed that this will come to an end in December, but really excited at how well our back-room team came together to secure a great deal with a huge global corporate. We now know what we’re capable of and have a blueprint of how to approach and work with the corporate world. I will also try to the best of my abilities to use my contacts and influence with any of the big companies, corporates, and charities that I work with to create more partnerships and collaborations with the London Titans

I would like to see us secure a long-term partnership over the next five years with a major corporate, London is one of the best cities in the world to do this and I believe if it’s not already it should be at the top of our priority list. Our other aim should be to find a new court, Stanmore is an excellent home but if we want to keep growing and attract more players and get more corporate deals, we need a bigger court which we can access more regularly. To do this we need to have a proper plan, decent finances and a package that we can offer to show that we are of value to whichever venue we approach. I’d also like to see us connect with more local schools, offer them wheelchair basketball demonstrations, get our more high-profile players to do assembly Q&A’s. We need them to get to know us and then come with their families on weekends to our games. I’d like Titans to become a known, trusted and loved part of the communities where we play and connecting with schools would be a major step.

A huge thank you to our current coaches Rob who travels hundreds of miles every week to coach our teams, to Adam who has been a stalwart member of Titans coaching staff for many years. Louise is another important member of our coaching staff, not only a good coach in her own right but she’s always ready to provide support for Matt as his assistant during Premier league and EuroCup fixtures. Thank you to Matt Calverley not only a great coach but a fantastic role model to our younger Titans. And also, to our new coaches Tyler, and Manni, good wheelchair basketball coaches are extremely hard to find so huge thanks to both of you for stepping up.

Thank you to our committee members, there’s a reason why we’re the best wheelchair basketball club in the country and our committee members are an important part of that reason.

Additional thanks to Matt as our Vice Chair, and our head of coin Lou for looking after our coffers.

Huge hugs for Lisa! Gutted we didn’t catch up in Paris. You are amazing thank you for all your hard work raising much needed funds, planning fixtures, booking flights, running our social media and all from your bat cave on the Isle of Wight. You must have the best Wi-Fi on the island.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

Thank you to Izem for running our livestream for all our team games! Being able to watch our games will be a very important part of Titan’s growth.

Thank you to Denny, Ben, Alex, Conner, Jaspal, Izem, and many more who have helped out at our team fundraisers - Special thanks to Freddy who has been to almost every one of our events.

Thanks must also go to our incredible table official team-led by the Smiths - Jenny, Alice, along with Giles on stats. Can’t forget Vicky K, Darren, Melanie and new member Pat.

Last but by no means least massive thanks for the continued support of our venues Aspire legacy, UEL, Bushey Meads school, Totteridge Academy, Kingsbury high School.

We are a special team not just because of our success on the court but it’s what we do off the court, that’s even more important it’s our players, and our coaches, everyone who’s involved in Titans that are always prepared to go the extra mile. This is what Titan’s pride is all about, and it’s the foundation of our success.

Let’s keep it going.

Thank you and good luck for the rest of the season!

The following pages outline the season across all divisions played, and I welcome each coach to present their teams’ reports.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

Premier Division

2023 saw a gain of some very experienced players join the roster, along with some new, younger, exciting talented players making the team very formidable. Gaz Choudhry joined us and needs no introduction! He has a huge backing of experience as a player and coaching, which we were extremely honoured to have within the team. Appointed MBE for services to wheelchair basketball, he is recognised across the world for his elite professionalism and success as a player and coach.

Next to enter the team was Ade Orogbemi, bringing another extremely experienced international athlete to the squad. Ade is widely regarded as one of the best defenders the world has seen in wheelchair basketball. So, to have this experience to share across the team gave us very promising sights ahead of the season. Ade is also head coach for the London Phoenix women’s team. So, a stronger partnership was achieved there to improve the players that play across to us, as well as improving solutions for fixture clashes!!

Elliot Hardman joined us from the unfortunate separation of Coventry Crusaders. Nonetheless, bringing a big yet younger 3.5 to the team vastly improved our units moving into the new season. Elliot’s search for bigger career prospects made us privileged to name him into our squad after contacting us. He already has experience training in the GB pathway program, so we could not turn down the opportunity for the committed, Bristol based athlete to make an impact on our season!

Lastly, our surprise Irish signing Jodie Waite brought another young but extremely physical 1.0 classification to the squad. Jodie, having only played for a few years, has leaped into the international level of wheelchair basketball from her hard work and commitment to training. When she came to her first premier training session, we were blown away by her speed, physicality and game smarts. There was no doubt that Jodie deserved a spot in the prem team.

Our season had a tough start taking on previous season’s playoff winners and bitter rivals Manchester Revolution. Perhaps a lack of preseason readiness and playing on the road led us into a disappointingly eye-opening defeat. Sometimes these defeats provide the team with vital insights into areas of improvement, and the team went to work to shape up and finetune our lineups during practice. We are blessed to have a team that although not professional, that all players find the time within their working lives to carve out several hours of personal training on court. This then allows team training sessions to purely develop tactics and team strategies.

We moved through the regular season with only one further loss to Sheffield Steelers by 1 point! We showed strong steady improvement game by game putting us top of the table heading into the playoffs, and prem league winners.

Within the 2024/25 season we once again competed in the IWBF Eurocup qualification round in February 2025. This time round we were placed into Euroleague 1 qualifiers, taking us to Izmir, Turkey. Although Euroleague 1 filters three of the five qualifying teams

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

in each group to final stages, our group was the toughest we have faced as a club competing in the pro league. Having one team dropped out of our group meant that the bottom two placed teams had to playoff for the final euro 3 final spot. We faced Hyeres, Wiesbaden and hosts Izmir in this order, pulling off one win in our third match against Izmir. A repeat match against Izmir for final third place didn’t go our way though. A last tough defeat knocked us out of a chance to qualify for a final.

Our road to competing at Eurocup level, however, will continue in 2025 thanks to our continued financial support through Pladis. We look forward to hearing our next qualifying allocation placement to test our squad’s talent for a final!

Back to the British league and we entered the playoffs top of the table and league winners. We faced off against Jaguars and claimed a convincing win 75-46 to set us up against Steelers in the final. A hard-fought battle saw us go basket for basket right up to the second half of the third quarter where we started to show our class. Beth Wheeler shot outstandingly, making Sheffield work hard to find a way to stop our spread of offence. We clinched the win 78-66, making it a third time in a row winning the league title, and a second playoff winning title.

Premier Division final league standings

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

Division One South

The division one team saw the return of many familiar faces within the squad, with the addition of Manni Filson from the Premier Team, Ben Triglia-Poulton coming up from division two and the new signings of Jodie Waite and Jamal Sorkheh. We had a strong team and started the season well with 3 wins in September and October.

Unfortunately, that would be the teams last win until February, being beaten by some incredibly strong teams in the league, Aces, Cardiff & CWBA. The team managed a couple more convincing wins towards the end of the season against Southern Sharks and The Bears, but it was only enough for a mid-table finish.

The last 3 matches of the season were undoubtedly the toughest for the team, who ended up playing Aces and Reading Rockets on consecutive days.

The highlight match for me was the match against Aces at Aspire. The grit and determination from the team was exceptional and saw a narrow defeat against a team that had beaten us by more than 30 points at the beginning of the season.

Alex Mitton was named as the Division One Player of the Year due to him being the squad’s top scorer in most matches. In addition to putting points on the board, he created opportunities for his teammates and had a hugely positive influence on the rest of the team. We’re sorry to see him leave the club for the coming season but wish him well with his new club.

Division Two South

SEASON OVERVIEW

As we close the curtains on this past season, it’s time to reflect on the journey of our Division 2 team—a season of resilience, teamwork, and undeniable spirit.

We kicked off with a remarkably strong squad. The team's opening was impressive, showcasing determination and skill that carried us through several tough matches. A standout moment was the thrilling one-point victory against Brixton away from home. This game epitomised our fighting spirit and was a testament to our players' ability to persevere under pressure.

However, the season was not without its challenges. We faced several availability issues, most notably the significant loss of Mo for the majority of the season. This could have been a setback, but for the camaraderie within the team. Our Division 3 players stepped up magnificently, their willingness to fill in, especially showcased during the West Country weekend, was invaluable and greatly appreciated.

The pinnacle of our season came with the regional decider. Once again, we were not at full strength, missing key players. But the team showed incredible character to come from behind and secure the victory that crowned us Division Champions. This was a proud moment for everyone involved and a reward for the hard work and dedication shown throughout the season.

Heading into the playoffs with high hopes, our journey took an unexpected turn. Despite not achieving the outcome we all desired, it’s important to focus on the positive strides made by the team. Over the summer, there has been notable improvement across the board. Coupled with strategic recruitments, our team is shaping up stronger and more determined.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

LOOKING AHEAD

We are focused on leveraging the growth and experiences from last season to propel us forward. The goal is clear—to go one better this coming season. With the talent and resolve within our team, combined with the lessons learned, there’s every reason to be optimistic about what lies ahead.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Our division 2 team has shown what it is made of: resilience, adaptability, and an undying team spirit. As we move forward, these qualities will be our foundation as we aim to reach new heights. Here’s to a season of promise, development, and hopefully, additional silverware. Thank you to all our players and let’s carry this momentum into the next season.

Division Three South

SEASON OVERVIEW

The Titans' season in the 3rd Division was a rollercoaster ride, marked by a challenging start but ultimately showcasing resilience and growth. After struggling in the early months, the team turned their fortunes around, finishing the season on a high note.

Early Struggles: The season began with a string of disappointing results, leaving the Titans at the bottom of the table. A lack of cohesion in the squad, combined with my own coaching availability, hampered performance. Defensive errors and missed scoring opportunities were prevalent.

Turning Point: Midway through the season, the team made crucial adjustments. focusing on strengthening the team’s defensive tactics, such as the player led 2 man hustle and ‘21-2’ press. As well fostering a more cohesive attacking strategy, provided the squad with fresh energy and perspective.

Strong Finish: The second half of the season saw a remarkable turnaround. The team began to secure crucial points, stringing together a series of wins that lifted them off the bottom of the table. The defence tightened, and the players found their rhythm in attack, leading to an improved point scoring record.

KEY PLAYERS

Captain's Leadership: Adam, Denny and Matt played a pivotal role in rallying the squad during tough times, providing both on-court leadership and off-court motivation.

Rising Stars: Several young players emerged as standout performers, contributing significantly to the team’s resurgence and showcasing their potential for future seasons.

Juniors Under 18

This season for our juniors brought some challenges, with a handful of players ageing out from the 23/24 season. Our heartfelt wishes go out to our junior player Thomas who has undergone chemotherapy since last December. He’s an absolute fighter on the court, so I’m confident he will fight just as much off the court too. We cannot wait to have him back with us.

We entered the league with just a squad of 7, recruiting Landen Brett from Southern Sharks who is a promising young talent with a lot of speed and a good range on his shot. All of the players showed great resilience considering we had little to no squad rotation, and it certainly taught a valuable lesson in foul control!

The BWB junior league itself unfortunately showed cracks forming, considering we were one of only two teams officially based in the south of the UK. Two teams from Wales were drafted into our South division in an attempt to bulk the group- Swansea and Aberystwyth. Aberystwyth unfortunately could not field a team in the first two rounds, and therefore had to forfeit. Our only match against Aces in round two proved difficult for our small squad and we suffered a tough loss. Our team however showed lots of passion and determination to play out under tough circumstances. There were many lessons learnt in the process of playing long minutes and finding small details of improvements as individuals and team play.

Our third round at home brought a hugely tense game against Swansea! We took it all the way to the wire unfortunately losing by 2 points in the final offence.

The final round took us on the road all the way to Swansea! Thankfully the miles of travelling didn’t put off the determination for our team to claim revenge on Swansea, and we got a convincing win to start the day! We then continued our performances to take a dominating win over Aberystwyth 60-7!!

Our last rearranged fixture against Aces showed a better fight from our gang. We lost 3559 but held them to a much tighter first half. This showed a mark of improvement from our very first match against them at the beginning of the season, proving that our team was able to display what they had worked on all season.

Although I reflect a lot, in all of the challenges our junior team faced, I was immensely proud as a coach to see what this group was able to achieve in such tough circumstances.

Moving forward, our remaining juniors will be merging with Aces to provide playing opportunities for all of them. My relationship with Aces is very good from having a long standing past playing for that club, so equal playing opportunities will be promised alongside the Aces players.

Rest assured, Titans WILL reform its own team in the future. We are working hard with many connections and organisations to build sources of player recruitment for the future.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

We are working with Wheelpower, Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital, Variety Charity, The Village School in Edgware and finally the BWB, all of which to find new players that we can bring into our club and develop into future stars. We also have recently secured around £4,300 of funding specifically earmarked for junior development, which we intend to use within the coming year.

Sponsorship and Funding

As we reflect on 2023/24, London Titans stand at the forefront of impactful opportunities in sports sponsorship and funding. The evolving landscape of sports marketing and the emergence of new funding streams have shaped our strategic approach towards sustaining and enhancing our club's initiatives. Understanding these trends is crucial for our current and potential sponsors who aim to align with our growing and vibrant community.

Increased Emphasis on Community and Social Responsibility

Corporate sponsors are increasingly valuing initiatives that contribute positively to society. London Titans' involvement in community-driven events and activities like the GOSH Get Active Day and UK Police aligns with this trend, providing meaningful engagement opportunities for sponsors looking to enhance their social impact.

Digital and Social Media Engagement

Our digital transformation has redefined how sports organisations interact with fans and stakeholders. Our club’s strategies now include a robust online presence and digital campaigns to engage a broader audience. Sponsors have the opportunity to be featured in digital content, extending their reach beyond traditional media. The South Bank photo shoot for Vodafone is an excellent example of integrating sports with technology and communication, appealing to the tech-savvy generation.

Multi-tiered Sponsorship Packages

Recognising diverse sponsor needs, we offer multi-tiered sponsorship packages tailored to different levels of involvement and exposure. This flexibility allows businesses of all sizes to engage with our club at varying levels, maximising the potential for collaboration.

Looking ahead, the London Titans are excited to explore new possibilities and deepen existing partnerships. We believe that through collaborative effort and shared values, we can achieve exceptional outcomes. For further inquiries about sponsorship opportunities, or to discuss a tailored package that suits the organisational goals of the company you work for or think might be interested in us, please do not hesitate to contact our sponsorship team.

endeavours. We are proud to compile this report highlighting our events and achievements over the past twelve months.

PLADIS

pladis, the global snacking company renowned for beloved brands such as McVitie's, has made a considerable impact on the London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club through its generous support. Here's an outline of the key areas where Pladis' contribution has furthered the club's objectives.

pladis has transformed the atmosphere at games by providing a selection of treats and snacks. Their contribution has not only delighted fans and players alike but also helped in creating a more vibrant and engaging gameday experience, contributing to an increased sense of community and camaraderie at events.

One of the most pivotal ways in which pladis support has been advantageous for the London Titans has been the financial backing for additional training sessions and coaching courses. This valued partnership is a prime example of how corporate support can be instrumental in elevating sports teams and community programs.

World Mental Health Day 2023

Louise and Freya had the privilege of participating in a Mental Health Day 'Lunch and Learn' event for pladis employees, sharing invaluable insights into their lives as athletes and how they maintain their mental well-being amidst the pressures of their sporting careers. Their participation underscored the importance of mental health, especially in high-stress environments.

Throughout the session, Louise and Freya delved into the techniques and strategies they employ to manage stress, focus on their mental resilience, and ensure they are mentally prepared to meet the challenges of their highly competitive fields. They highlighted the significance of routine, mental conditioning, mindfulness practices, and seeking support when needed, illustrating how such practices are integral not only in sports but in any highpressure professional setting.

Their stories and experiences resonated with pladis employees, offering practical advice and demonstrating that prioritising mental health is crucial to performing at one's best, both in and out of the workplace. The event facilitated a deeper understanding of mental wellbeing among employees and promoted an open dialogue about managing stress and mental health challenges, reflecting pladis's commitment to supporting its employees' holistic well-being. Huge thanks to both Lou and Freya for sharing and supporting this event.

Head Office Takeover

It isn't every day that one gets to witness the incredible energy and enthusiasm that was on display at Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work, thanks to the incredible team from pladis Global. Going beyond the usual work routine, pladis employees ventured into something much more challenging, yet exhilarating - they tried their hands, and wheels, at wheelchair

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

basketball with London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club. This event was not just about sports; it was a testament to the spirit of inclusivity, teamwork, and above all, fun at the workplace.

The arena was set, the wheels were in motion, and the excitement was palpable as pladis employees took their places in chairs, ready to embark on a unique journey of sportsmanship - trying wheelchair basketball. Surrounded by a variety of sports to engage in, it was basketball that stole the spotlight and created a buzz among everyone present. The reason? It wasn’t just a game; it was an experience - an unforgettable one at that.

Wheelchair basketball provided an extraordinary opportunity for everyone to step into our shoes, or rather, our wheels. The learning curve was sharp, but the enthusiasm and determination of the pladis team made it look like they were natural at it.

Reflecting on the day, LBW Titans Godmother shared her thoughts:

"It was not just about playing a sport; it was about breaking barriers, understanding diversity, and embracing inclusivity. And doing it all while having a blast!"

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

The event was much more than a day of sports; it was a celebration of the human spirit, a lesson in diversity and inclusivity, and a testament to the fact that sometimes, stepping into someone else's shoes (or wheels!) can be the best way to move forward, together. We thank pladis for their commitment to Titans this year.

Accessibility Audit

Jenny Smith has been pioneering remarkable work with pladis in enhancing accessibility within the workplace, addressing the broad spectrum of needs that encompass physical, visual, hearing, and cognitive dimensions. Her approach is multi pronged and centred around practical engagement and strategic implementation.

For physical accessibility, Jenny has orchestrated initiatives such as highlighting accessible needs including during emergencies, off-hours, and when alternative paths are necessitated, say, by elevator malfunctions. This hands-on approach ensures that everyone can navigate the workplace safely and efficiently. It certainly ensured the club members were safe when visiting.

When addressing visual and hearing accessibility, Jenny has taken a meticulous approach by conducting 1:1 sessions with individuals declaring these needs. This direct dialogue has enabled the tailoring of the work environment to include aids like braille, visual alarms, hearing loops, and signing in meetings, thereby fostering an inclusive setting for all employees.

In tackling cognitive needs and supporting neurodiversity, Jenny's work has been particularly expansive. It extends into rethinking working environments, communication methodologies, performance management strategies, and the provision of reasonable adjustments. This comprehensive view aligns with understanding and supporting neurodiverse individuals in a manner that respects their unique needs and contributions.

Underpinning Jenny's efforts is a strong collaboration with HR and site managers to ensure the accessibility measures are both practical and safely implemented. Her work mirrors the broader aspirations of pladis's strategic plan for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), intertwining operational strategies with overarching goals and desired outcomes.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

Moving forward, an alignment with these goals and a clear understanding of desired outcomes will be critical in realising the full potential of these initiatives within the corporate framework of pladis. We are hugely grateful to Jenny for taking the time to lead this and be the changer making champion within Titans.

HEATHROW AIRPORT

The partnership between our team and Heathrow Airport, our esteemed kit sponsor, has been relatively quiet this year. Despite this, we are excited to share that proactive steps are being taken to rejuvenate our collaboration. Plans are already in motion for an engaging session in November, which will see us come together with Heathrow Airport and 20 of their partners. This upcoming gathering is a testament to our ongoing relationship and mutual commitment to fostering strong ties and exploring new avenues of collaboration, promising a dynamic future ahead.

HEATHROW EXPRESS

In an ever-evolving landscape of collaborations and partnerships, the essence of reconnection stands as a testament to enduring mutual values and shared goals. This year marks a significant milestone as we joyfully announce the rekindling of our relationship with Heathrow Express. Despite a period of change, including transitions within their team, our commitment to excellence and mutual support remains unwavering. We are pleased to announce they will continue to support us in the coming season.

OTHER SUPPORTERS

The club continues to benefit from the support of GLL and the GLL Sport Foundation.

The GLL Sport Foundation is the largest independent athlete support program in the UK and is focused on transforming people’s lives, inspiring, and promoting community skills and cohesion through sport and physical activity. Building Brand Awareness

In today's competitive market, establishing and maintaining brand awareness is crucial for any entity, including sports teams and their partners. For organisations like London Titans, leveraging consistent signage at games, comprehensive live game feeds, strategic media coverage, and co-branded merchandise are effective strategies to enhance visibility and strengthen brand identity.

AT ASPIRE

One potent method to build brand recall is through consistent signage at all games. Having a presence for every home game ensures that the brand remains top of mind for fans and viewers, regardless of the game's magnitude. Signs and posters have also been strategically placed around our home venue.

Traditionally, only premier games receive the lion's share of live broadcast coverage. However, streaming as many games as possible, has significantly widened viewer reach and, by extension, brand exposure. This approach not only keeps dedicated fans engaged but also brings in casual viewers who might tune in to broadcasts available on various platforms. Big shout to Izem, for their support on this in the past season.

Leveraging co-branded merchandise, such as hoodies produced in collaboration with partners like pladis, creates walking and rolling advertisements. When these items are worn in public, including on television by fans, players, or staff, they continually advertise the linked brands. Notably, when these hoodies or other co-branded gear appear on TV, they catch the eye of countless viewers, converting every appearance into a promotional opportunity. Wear yours with pride.

Here are just some of 2023/24 highlights away from the season:

IMPERIAL UNIVERSITY DEMO FOR STUDENTS

The year kicked off with an electrifying demonstration at Imperial University. Our players showcased their skills in front of a group of eager students, acting as a platform to have a go at our sport and finding out about parasport. This event not only served as a platform for demonstrating the inclusivity of sports but also strengthened our ties with academic institutions.

VODAFONE

In an exciting collaboration celebrating connectivity and community, London Titan has proudly participated in Vodafone's innovative launch of ‘The Nations Network,’ marked by the debut of the UK’s largest photo booth event. This event not only showcased the technological prowess and expansive reach of Vodafone but also emphasised the ethos of community and shared experiences in the digital age.

GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL GET ACTIVE DAY 2024

Saturday, 6th July marked an extraordinary day of courage, triumph, and unbridled joy at the Great Ormond Street Hospital Get Active Day held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in Edmonton, London. This year, in our fourth consecutive appearance, London Titans Wheelchair Basketball club joined GOSH and the numerous other sports and groups to create an unforgettable event. With over 500 kids trying our sport, it was the biggest attendance to date, and the impact was truly awe-inspiring.

The Get Active: Sports & Activity Day through treatment and beyond event encapsulates the spirit of inclusivity, resilience, and the transformative power of sports. This fantastic day of sports and activities welcomed past and present patients who have undergone treatment for conditions like Cancer, Bone Marrow Transplant, Immunology, Haematology, and Haemophilia. It provided a safe and supportive space for them and their families to engage in physical activity, create memories, and embrace the spirit of community. As we reflect on the GOSH Get Active Day, the words of gratitude and joy from the parents and families continue to pour in. Many have shared their heartfelt appreciation, expressing that this day provided a much-needed respite from the challenges they've faced. One particular comment stands out "This was the most joyous day, the best we have had since the nightmare of his cancer diagnosis was given. He has done more than we thought possible, and we have smiled like we haven't done since treatment began."

These words encapsulate the profound impact this event had on individuals and their loved ones, emphasising the incredible power of sports and community to heal and uplift spirits.

Huge thanks to Kerry and the team from Wilson James for providing logistics in getting our chairs, hoops and balls to and from the event. Without their support we won't have been able to take part. And of course to the Titans team who spent the day giving back and making our sport one of the most popular once again.

Let's celebrate the indomitable spirit of these remarkable individuals, their families, and the entire community that came together for a day filled with smiles, laughter, and a renewed sense of possibility. Here's to the GOSH Get Active Day, where every moment is a testament to the human spirit's limitless potential!

GO LONDON!

The collaboration between the London Titans, Basketball England, and the NBA, was nothing short of strategic brilliance. Our joint efforts were aimed at providing an engaging and educational experience for attendees, leveraging the popularity and facilities of the Copperbox, a venue with a rich Olympic and Paralympic legacy. One of the highlights of this collaboration was the integration of interactive drills with the excitement of the running and wheelchair games, offering attendees a dual experience of learning and entertainment.

GLL & Aspire London Titans – Annual Report & Account y/e 31/07/2024

This combination not only kept the audience engaged but also allowed for a hands-on learning experience that resonated with both avid basketball fans and those new to the sport. This has allowed us to create connections with the London Basketball Association and we are hoping for great things in the coming year.

POLICE CIC EXHIBITION GAME AND PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENT VICTORY

This past year we have been supporting the newly formed UK Police Disability Sport CIC, to deliver a platform for serving and retired police officers and staff who have either been injured, living with a disability, illness, mental health or neurodiversity to engage in adaptive/disability sport.

In an exhilarating exhibition game and introduction to wheelchair basketball, London Titans displayed skill, strategy, and sportsmanship. The event was more than a game; it was a celebration of community and mutual respect. Following this, we proudly clenched victory in the pre-season tournament in September, outperforming teams including Police CIC, Hereward Heat, and Reading Rockets. These victories underscored our dedication and prowess on the basketball court and was a great warm up for our Division 2 and 3 team.
