## **Clevedon Care – Annual Report for Year Ending 31 December 2023 – Charity Number 299247** 

Clevedon Care is a small charity run entirely by volunteers – there are no paid staff.   Its main purpose is to provide transport for patients who are attending medical appointments either at local surgeries or hospitals.   Mainly local, but hospitals are based either at Weston super Mare or Bristol.   Requests have been made to travel further afield – the furthest so far was to take a patient to Oxford. Fortunately, we were able provide a driver who was prepared to undertake the task. 

Drivers use their own vehicles for the purpose of transporting, and patients are requested to make a donation based on mileage at 45 pence per mile which is the amount allowed by HMRC.   The task of coordinating requests is done by volunteer clerks who staff the office on a regular basis.   The number of appointments undertaken during the period covered by this report was 3,100 which averages out at 60 per week. 

Clevedon Care rents a small room from Clevedon YMCA which is used as our office base for which we pay a small rental of £140.00 per month.   A copy of the audited accounts is attached to this report.
