Report of the Trustees
ThetrusteeswhoarealsodirectorsofthecharityforthepurposesoftheCompaniesAct2006,presenttheirreportwiththe financial
statementsof the charity for the year ended 31st March 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisionsof Accountingand Reporting by
Charities:StatementofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththe Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Mission statement
Ourmissionistoensurethatfood,drinksandotheressentialsuppliesareprovidedtohomelesspeopleaswellasothersinneed in
BristolCitycentre,everynightoftheyear.Wealsoaimtosignposthomelesspeopletoaccommodationandothersupportservices to
ensure they are given the help they need to break the cycle of homelessness.
Charitable activities
To ensurewe continueto operatea dailysouprun, we have partneredwithseveralvolunteerorganisations(mostlylocalchurches, but
alsoindependentteams)whooperateeachdailysouprun.Astheumbrellacharity,wehaveimplementedarotatocoordinate the
activitiesoftheseteams.Togovernthecharity,andtopromoteconsistencyofservicedelivery,wehaveimplementedaCode of
Practice for volunteer teams, outlining the rules for safely operating a soup run.
Eachteamgenerallyoperatesinthesameway;theypreparefoodandhotdrinks,whichtheywillthendistributeattwo designated
points,at the same time of evening,in the city centre. Each team is expected to report back via a social media platform,with a summary
of the evening's activity, including numbers of people fed, to facilitate planning for the next night's team.
We expect team leaders to ensure that any volunteersupportinga soup run also signs a form to confirmthey have read and understood
theCodeofPracticebeforetheyparticipate.Teamleadersarealsoresponsiblefororderingfoodanddrinkforeachrun,and for
submitting receipts for reimbursement to the Bristol Soup Run Trust.
We undertakecharitablefundraisingactivities(suchas the big sleep out,to raiseawarenessof the challengesof homelessness)to fund
theprovisionofsuppliesforeachsouprun.Weoperateacentralstoragefacilitytoprovideaccesstoessentialsuppliessuchas cold
weatherclothing,sleepingbagsandambientfoodproducts.Wefacilitatecommunicationbetweeneachteamandlinkwith other
charities working with homeless people in Bristol.
We have decidedto continuethe VolunteerCoordinatorrole due to the successof the positionin organisingand supportingour teams,
and facilitatingcommunication,reportingand coordinationbetweeneachgroup.Key responsibilitiesof this roleinclude:responding to
generalenquiries;developingpositivelinkswithlocalbusinessesandlocalauthorityrepresentativesormembersofthe public;
monitoringsocialmediacommunicationsbetweenteamsandmanagingsocialmediaplatformsforthecharity;collectingor receiving
donations,maintainingcontactlists;updatingorcreatingpolicies;maintainingdocumentation;liaisonwithBristolCityCouncil, Bristol
HomelessForumandotherhomelessnesscharities;attendingthesouprunswhenpossible;maintaininggoodrelationshipswith soup
run team leaders; and recruitment, induction/training and assignment of other volunteers to support activities.
Public benefit
Weprovidebenefittothepublicthroughtheprovisionoffood,drinksandotheressentialsuppliesforhomelesspeopleandothers in
need.Thetrusteesconfirmtheyhavecompliedwiththerequirementsofsection4 oftheCharitiesAct2011tohavedue regardto the
public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Volunteers
Operatingthe daily soup run, combinedwith the logisticsof procuring,preparingand serving over 20,000 food portionsover the course
of the year has only been possiblethanks to the hard work of our army of volunteers.We are reliant on our teams of volunteerswho go
outontothe streetsof Bristoleverynightof the yearto undertakethe souprun.Withoutthesewonderfulvolunteers,our work would
not be possible.We wouldlike to take this opportunityto thankour talentedand dedicatedteamsfor everythingthey do to help those
in need in Bristol; we are so proud of them.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
2024-25 Report
ThisreportcoversApril2024toMarch2025.Wecontinuetooperateadailysouprunduringthisperiod,seeinganaverage of
approximately55 people each night, and giving out around 20,000 food portionsover the year. Numbers have stayed largely in line with
thepreviousyear,witha slightincreasetotheaveragenumberseen.We havehadhighsofover70 or80 peopleonoccasion.We are
seeingmore peopleattendingthe servicethat are not necessarilystreethomeless,but are strugglingwith accessto food,which seems
to correlate with cost of living increases and other impacting factors in the community.
During2024and2025,wehavecontinuedtoimplementourCOVIDriskassessmentandsafetypoliciestoensurethesafetyof our
volunteersandalsothosethatweserve.OurpolicycontinuationhasspecificallyincludedprovisionofPPE,ifdesiredby volunteers
(masks, gloves) and hygiene products (hand wash,
gel,spray)tosupportsafepreparationanddistributionoffoodanddrinkproducts.We havealsoensuredtrainingtoourteam leaders
and their teams on social distancing and how to ensure safe delivery of our services to our clients.
WehavecontinuedtoengageandcollaboratethroughsocialmediaplatformswithotherhomelessnesscharitiesinBristolto ensure
transparencyacrossBristolon the servicesofferedto people in need. This has helped better signpostingto other servicesfor our clients
andhaspromotedcommunicationwithinthegroupsinvolvedinprovidingtheseservices.Wehaveusedthisinformationtowork on
creationofasignpostingfactsheetforourgueststogivethemconciseandusefulinformationtodirectthemtotheright continued
support.WecontinuetoalsoprovidetheCaringinBristolhandbookwhenrequiredwhichcontainsallBristolbasedsupport charities
and services that can be accessed.
OurvolunteercoordinatorandoneofthetrusteesattendtheregularBristolhomelessforumtocontinuetodeveloprelationships and
information share with other organizations.
We continue to operate a storage unit, which we use to distribute essential supplies to our teams.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial position
Incomefortheyearwas£33,882(2023-£50,555).Expenditurefortheyearwas£52,405(2024-£48,290).Asaresult,forthe year
ended 31st March 2025, there was a loss of £18,523 (2024 - benefit of £2,265). This benefit will be utilised in future years.
Reserves policy
Thetrusteeswillmaintainadequatereservestocoverallcommitmentsandbudgetedcostsforthecurrentfinancialyearand maintain
an appropriate budget for future years to cover commitments for the following 12 month.
At the year end, unrestricted reserves of £115,656 were available (2024 - £134,179)
Going concern
TheTrusteesoftheCharityhaveconcludedthattherearenomaterialuncertaintiesrelatedtoeventsorconditionsthatmay cast
significantdoubtontheabilityoftheCharitytocontinueasagoingconcern.TheTrusteesareoftheopinionthattheCharitywill still
have sufficient resources to meet its liabilities as they fall due.
FUTURE PLANS
The charity will continue to provide food, advice, support and assistance to those who are in need in the years to come.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The charityis controlledby its governingdocument,a deed of trust, and constitutesa limited company,limited by guarantee,as defined
by the Companies Act 2006.
Recruitment and appointment of new trustees
Theidentificationofpotentialnewtrusteesiscarriedoutbytheboard,theaimbeingtoappointthosewiththeappropriate expertise
and experienceforthe charity'swork.On agreeingto becomea trusteeofthe charity,theyare thoroughlybriefedby their co-trustees
on the history of the trust, the day-to-day management, the responsibilities of the trustees, the current objectives and future plans.
Organisational structure
Thetrusteesareultimatelyresponsibleforthepolicies,activitiesandassetsofthecharity.Theymeetthroughouttheyearto review
developmentswith regard to the charity,any grant givingactivitiesand to make any importantdecisions.When necessary,the trustees
seek advice and support from the charity's professional advisers.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year ended 31st March 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
Asthecharity'strusteesoftheCompany(andalsoitsdirectorsforthepurposesofcompanylaw)youareresponsiblefor the
preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Act').
Havingsatisfiedmyselfthat the accountsof the Companyare not requiredto be auditedunder Part16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible
forindependentexamination,Ireportinrespectofmyexaminationofyourcharity'saccountsascarriedoutunderSection145of the
CharitiesAct2011('the2011Act').IncarryingoutmyexaminationIhavefollowedtheDirectionsgivenbytheCharity Commission
under Section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I havecompletedmy examination.I confirmthatno mattershavecometo my attentionin connectionwiththe examinationgiving me
cause to believe:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Company as required by Section 386 of the 2006 Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of Section 396 of the 2006 Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Thefinancialstatementsofthecharitablecompany,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS102,havebeenprepared in
accordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReportingbyCharities:StatementofRecommended Practice
applicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththeFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUK and
RepublicofIreland(FRS102)(effective1January2019)',FinancialReportingStandard102'TheFinancialReporting Standard
applicablein the UK and Republicof Ireland'and the CompaniesAct 2006.The financialstatementshave been prepared under
the historical cost convention.
Income
All income is recognisedin the Statementof FinancialActivitiesonce the charityhas entitlementto the funds, it is probable that
the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expenditure
Liabilitiesarerecognisedasexpenditureassoonasthereisalegalorconstructiveobligationcommittingthecharityto that
expenditure,it is probablethat a transferof economicbenefitswill be requiredin settlementand the amountof the obligation
canbemeasuredreliably.Expenditureisaccountedforonanaccrualsbasisandhasbeenclassifiedunderheadings that
aggregateallcostrelatedtothecategory.Wherecostscannotbedirectlyattributedtoparticularheadingstheyhave been

Taxation
The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
Restrictedfundscanonlybeusedforparticularrestrictedpurposeswithintheobjectsofthecharity.Restrictionsarise when
specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
Thecharitablecompanyoperatesadefinedcontributionpensionscheme.Contributionspayabletothecharitable company's
pension scheme are charged to the Statement of Financial Activities in the period to which they relate.
