Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of the Polish University Abroad I report on the accounts of The Polish Univer51ty Abroad for the year ended 31" August 2024, which are set out on pages 4-9. Respertlve responslbilitles of Trustee5 and Examlner. The charity, Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under Sertion 43121 of the Charities Act 1993 and that an independent examination is sufficlent. It is my responsiblllty to.. examlne the accounts undersectlon 43 of the 1993 Act follow the procedure5 laid down in the general Dlrections given by the Charity Commisslon under Settion 43lbl of the 1993 Act and State, whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basls of Independent ExamSner'5 Report My examination was carried out In accordance with the general Direttions given by the Charity Commission. The examination includesa reviewof the accounting records kept by the charity and in comparison of the account5 presented with those records. It also include5 consideration of any unusual items or di5c105ures in the account5 and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence thatwould be required in an audtt and consequently no opinSon is given as to whether the accounts present a 'tfue and fair view" and report is 5imited to those matter5 set out in the Statement below. Independent Examlnerfs Statement In connettion with my examination no matter have come to my attention which 8ives me reasonable cause to believe that in any matèrial respect the requirements.. to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 41 of the 1993 Act and to prepare accounts which wlth the accounting records and comply with the accountlng requirement5 of the 1993 Act, have not been met or to which. The charity is managed by the Board of Trustees in all administrative matters. The UniVersitS Senate is responsible foratademicmatters with over311 oversight and control exertised by the Board of Trustees. The AGM of the Board of Trustees receive5 the Rertorf5 annual report and reviews and approves all actfvitie5 and future plans of the Universitv. The Senate consists of the following.. Objectives and Activities The principal attivity of the charlty is that of an educational est3blishment, providing education in particular to students of Polish origin, by means permitted by charf(y law. Achievements and Performance Regular courses were run by PUNO as in the previous years. In addrcion the following events took place- Inauguration of the AcadeniicYear- 6th Ortober 2023 XIV April Conference- 18th May 2024- Yhe Politics of History in Poland in the 20" and 21" Centuries" Vl June COnferenCe-27-2 June 2024-.Edukacja, Nauka, Kultura w plynnej nowouesnog? nowe odoytania" The Polish university Abroad received much support from volunteers inclLtding our professors, lectU[S and friends. Future Strategy The charity plans to continue the activitie5 as outlined in its objettives. Financial Review During the year donations of £ 3,512.36were received from Polish community and from Polish organisations. Basls of preparation of account5 As the income of the charity is below £250,, the Trusteeshave resolved that the accounts do not needto be audited, there is no provision in the Statute of the Universty requiring such an audit and no such audit has been requested. Additional, the Trustees have resofved that in orderto minimise administration, the ReiptS and Payments basis of preparing the accounts should be used. Related Party Transactions No Trustees or any person connected with the Trustees has recewed any remuneration related to tru5tees' duties for the yeardirectly or indirectly from the charity funds. Independent Examlnation The Trustees agreed to the engagement of Mr K Muraszko to act as Independent Examiner of the Charity on a pro bono basis.
