Little Teapots Annual Review.
Little Teapots Preschool is a self contained setting that is accessible to children whose ages range from 24 months to 60 months. It is a registered charity and is run by a voluntary committee. The committee consists of a Chair, a Vice Chair, a Treasurer, a Secretary and several other members.
We have achieved four Outstanding Ofsted inspections.
This financial year has been turblant, with us finishing on a loss rather than a profit. Major factors in this are national wage increases, a member of staff going on to maternity leave and needing to employ maternity cover. With this year's economic climate, we have found that a lot of our resources and utilities have drastically increased our monthly expenditure. In July we had a vast amount of fee paying four years olds leave and our intake for the remaining year has predominantly been government funded 2 year olds.
Some of our loss can be attributed to streamlining our back of house operations. We had a rental contract for an office machine which we were not using. As a setting we have moved to more digital and environmentally friendly operations.
We have had our own self kitchen space developed into the setting. This allows us to let the children see and experience a kitchen environment, prepare snacks and also have greater management of food allergies and intolerance. We also give the children baking and cooking enrichment.
Having said all of this, we continue to thrive and have good numbers and families joining us. And have a more profitable forecasting ahead. For the forthcoming year we hope to be able to continue to grow and offer an outstanding setting and environment for all of our local children and families. We aim to hold more fundraising events to generate some additional funds.
