Objectivcs And activities
Thc cliÉl1'ity's objLLt and its pi'incipul activity contllllieq to be that of providing affordablc holiday5, respite
carc aiid resideiilial facilities for gi'oups and orgillli5atioiis dealiiig with children and yoiing peopl¢ and the
provi5ioii of cducational faciliii¢s. Tlie facilities are used for spiritual weekends k]nd also for group bookings
for respite care.
The chai'ity is oi'g¢inised so that the Triistees nieet regularly 10 1113nage its affairs. There is oiie full time
Cliildirii's Services Manager and a Financial Maiiager. wlio both nianage tlie day lo day adiiitnistration of
the charity, and the effective use of all resources. The remaiiiiiig staffs Éirc cmployed in adiiiiiiistrative role5,
cliildreii's ¢dLicalion roles and general iiiaintcnaiice of the grounds and buildiiigs. Wlicrc possible the
trustees havc bcLn ussisting witli day to day adiiiiiiistration, mainlcnance and the WW2 project.
The Mistees l)ave paid due i'cgard to guidance issued by the Charity ComLnission in deciding what activitics
the cliai'ity sliould undertake.
Developments, activities and achievement during the year
iother good year operating our site and projects. The year was one of tOLigh financial times for
people and organisations with high cost of I1￿.1ng which also affected tlie charity, the trustees and
staff kept the situation under review keeping control ot our costs as miich as possible and keeping
usage under review.
St¢ifting has been kept linder view and the numbers kept under control but have risen due
to paid staff time has been used to cover what used to be done by voluiiteers, level of volLinteers
has been dropping diie to an ageing profile of our volunteers le¢iding to people dropping out.
Situation being kept under review and looking at chances to recruit more.

Trustees still short of people and are looking to recruit new members, Mark Finburgli (legal
background) has retired from board, thanks to all his efforts on our behalf over many years.
Site facilities kept same Lisers but costs are rising dnd are being passed on, biggest issue still
getting new leases put logether and issued due to various legal issues neediiig sorted out, working
on. Play zoiie is now set up and is operating well and popular after charity speiiding d lot of
Inoney.
Charity projects still working well and meeting the charities aims of ¢ducation, usage is
still good on all projects although has had some fall off due to costs involved, being kept under
review. Staff and volunteers still doing a great job organising and running the projects thanks to
them, Vollinteer nil￿be[S proving ali issue, age profile of people who volunteer to run children at
war project Inean they are gettiiig older and less availlible. Mike Howard one of our volunteers
froin beginning (ran blitz experience very popiilar) had io give up dLie to ill health thanks for his
efforts on our behalf he will be missed. Number of visitors to out forties experience piiblic
opening have held up but ale levelling off and again volunteer numbers are an issue.
Thanks to trLlStees, staff and volunteers for all their efforts over the year.

Structure* govern&n¢e and Management
The charity is a Company governed by its Memoi-anduin and Articles of Association and it is liinited by
guarantee.
All directors of the coinpany are also trustees of the charity, and tliere is a nicmbership comprised of other
tnjsteeb. The Iruslee5 lltiiiied on pagc 2 served during tlie year. The Board has the power to appoint
additional tnislees as it coiisiders fit lo do so.
None of the trustees has beneficial iiiterest in Il)e coinpaiiy.
Tlie charity is governed by Directors, with the assistaiice of mai)agyers volunteers and niembers.
