## **ANNUAL REVIEW**

Finances were improved with grants received from the Corsham Town Council, fundraising and increased membership.

During this year there was a change to the board of trustees with an increase in the number of trustees and supporIng parents.

At the end of the year there were 117 members.

Online meeIngs of the trustee board became well abended and allowed the associaIon to manage

In February 2024 Corsham Windband AssociaIon visited Orléans and Jargeau (Corsham’s Twin Town) in the Loire Region of France during the half term break. Two features of the trip were highlighted by our hosts from the Jargeau Twinning AssociaIon – the sharing in our joy of music making and the celebraIon of partnership between the people of Corsham and Jargeau. Whilst in the area the bands raised 1200 Euros for ‘Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque Enfants du Monde’ – a charity dedicated to funding surgery for children with heart problems.

Local performances in Corsham increased the awareness of the community alongside an increase in the range of partnerships with schools and organisaIons in the Wiltshire area.

The AssociaIon had no employees in 2023 – 2024 but relied on volunteers to support all acIviIes lessons and partnerships. ContribuIons to costs were made to Jack Anstee and Jo Knight.

Membership conInues **to be open to all, with a number of families and past members joining throughout the year. Sponsored places are a feature of the inclusive nature of CWA.**

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**

Income is now derived from four principal sources: membership subscripIons; fund raising through performances; donaIons including Just Giving; and grants.

review of the property held by the AssociaIon has been carried out. This will result in an increase in the premium for the year 2024/25

## **RESERVES POLICY**

All of the funds held by the Corsham Wind Band AssociaIon are unrestricted funds. This funding is held to enable the associaIon to conInue with its acIviIes and to develop further music making locally and across Wiltshire.

The AssociaIon has reserves held within the current account amounIng to £18131.

Having considered its reserves and future income prospects the trustees agree that the associaIon is a going concern.

The associaIon reviews risks as part of its regular meeIngs and when considering new acIviIes.

term reducIon in membership numbers or less successful events and fund raising.

The work of the associaIon could be disrupted by external events (such as a pandemic) and, over a longer Ime scale, a shortage of volunteers to support all acIviIes.

The CWA trustees will look at further future projects to enhance the resources available to CWA membership provided that there remains sufficient number of volunteers to deliver these projects.
