FOCS INCOME AND EXPENSE: FINANCIAL PERIOD JULY 31[ST] 2020 TO 1[ST] AUGUST 2021
We started the academic year with a healthy balance of £35,632.5. Over the period we were able to maintain support for a number of school initiatives, due to the innovative ideas from the committee. Our total expenditure, including school funding was £5,208.05 over the period, with income including corporate sponsorship; £25,602.18

FOCS EVENT REVIEW
Given the continuing COVID19 restrictions, our ability to run a full yearly schedule was again severely limited. The online 2020 Winter Fayre and associated, ‘Christmas Card and Mug’ initiative continued to be the top revenue generator in the school calendar.
WF20 - Raised £3,957.08 which was down 35% YoY in overall revenue. However net profit was £3,597 which meant only 12% YoY fall in profit. This was attributed to increase ‘Matched Funding’ and a significant cost reduction related to the online event.
Notable other events included; the Sunflower Competition and Sunflower Walk. We will endeavour to maintain these types of innovative and fun events in the following year’s program.
Event Cancellation 2020 and continuing community goodwill for the Wellbeing project!
Sadly, the theme of the year was a full academic year without an on-site school event. The community has shown goodwill to the Wellbeing project with £45,000 secured.

The Growth of Corporate Matched Funding
Matched Funding is now our primary income source and disproportionately accounted for 70% of all revenue, due to the organisation’s limited ability to run events. A special thanks to the parents who work at Metaswitch who have been able to access both Microsoft licenses and significant Matched Funding access.

Corporate Sponsorship Review
This year was a record for ‘Matched Funding’ from Corporate Sponsors including; Metaswitch, Aviva, Easy Fundraising and Atkinson. More than 70% of all FOCS revenue has come from access to corporate donations. This is hugely significant given the trend over recent years to increase our corporate funding network. We must continue to promote this funding channel access route in the wider community.

FOCS School Project Funding Review
We have continued to support the school for numerous activities including; dance lessons and panto. We have also support the funding of the Den project which was completed a the beginning of the year.

TREASURER’S SUMMARY
We finished the year with a total of £ 56,026.60 , which is a record for cash reserves. We’d continued to save money for the Wellebing Centre project and must now ensure the project work commences in the Summer of 2022.
We are still awaiting a £65,000 local fund grant application outcome from the council, which would give us the platform to undertake and potentially complete the work in the Summer of 2022.
The future is bright at Chase Side Primary.

Communications Officer
Responsibilities: Monthly updates on FOCS meetings and event programs, and communication to office and year rep groups for FOCS news and events.
Treasurer
Responsibilities: Management of accounts and yearly filings, payment management, corporate sponsorship engagement.
Chair
Responsibilities: Manage FOCS initiatives, event coordination, set FOCS agenda, manage volunteer groups.
Vice-Chair
Responsibilities: Co-Manage FOCS initiatives and all other tasks with Chair.
