**Objects:** TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THOSE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SHALL HAVE SERVED DURING THE SECOND   WORLD WAR IN ANY OF HIS MAJESTY'S FORCES OR IN THE MERCHANT SERVICE AND WHO IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO SUCH SERVICE WERE RESIDENT IN CHIGWELL, ESSEX AND SHALL BE IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES OR SUFFERING HARDSHIP AS A DIRECT RESULT OF SUCH SERVICE.

**Activities:** Makes grants to 1939-1945 war ex service personnel who resided in parishes of Chigwell and Chigwell Row at date of their enlistment and who are suffering as a result of that service or are in necessitous circumstances and their widows.
