The Trustees for the Charfty ('the Trustees.) are the Individuals In whom18gal title to the Community
Centre property and buildlng Is vested. The Charfty Trustees are the officers of the General
Committee I'the Committee.).
Law applicable to charltles in England and Wales requires the Charity Trustees to prepare financlal
statements for each financial year, whlch give a true and fair vlew of th8 chartty's financlal activltles
durlng the year and of Its financial position at the end of the year.
The Charity Trustees are r8spons5ble for keeping proper accountlng records, which dlsclose wlth
reasonable accuracy at any tlme the financlal posltlon of the Charity and ensur8 that the financlal
statements comply with Part 8 of the Charllles Act 2011. Th8y are also responsib18 for safeguarding
the charity's assets and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevent¢on of fraud and breaches
of laws and regulations.

Th8 Community Centre contlnues lo be used by a wide range of organlsatlons, which Cowoperate to
ensure Ihe buildlng is used 88 flexibly as possible and rneets the needs of all users. Most of the
organlsatlons that US8 th8 Community Centre on a regular basls are Affiliated Groups who play a
role In Ils m8nag8m8nt, through representation on the Commlttee. The approach of the Committee
Is to encourage a vAde range of us8g8 to cater for the needs of many l¢xal communlty groups.
The main part of the Community Centre bullding comprises two separate halls, whlch are available
for users to rent. There Is also an extenslon, the interior of which Is managed by Marshfield Pre
School as its own dedicated space, together wlth dedlc8ted gardens to the front and rear of the
extenslon. Thls enables it to provide local f8cllltles for the edu¢atlon and care of pre-school chlldren.

This year. the Covid pandemlc has significantly impacted activitl8s at the community c8ntre. The
entre closed for all activities in March 2020 and cautiously reopened in July 2020 with a redU￿d
programme, social dlst8ncing measures and increased hygiene. The management committee
exiands its grateful thanks to Ollver Brason and Kathryn Ba￿oW for their sterfing efforts to ensure
the community ontre is not only Covld secure and compliant with all the latest measures but also
WI-FI enabled.
As a local charity thè centre was eligible for financial support via South Gloucestershire Coundl in
the form of business rate relief of £678 and £10.000 small business support grant. MCCA is also
grateful for the continued support of local councillors Ben Stokes and Steve Reade who have
awarded MCCA several MAF grants during 2019120. The first contributed £250 towards the new
digital signage screens located at the community ￿ntre and at central stores in the heart of the
village. During the first half of the year, the community c@ntre Improved physical a¢￿$5 to the centre
by installing automatic doors. This represented a significant investment in the building Infrastructure
and was funded by a second MAF award of £2,000. a £1,000 grant from Marshfield Parish Council
and matched by a £3.000 grant from Morrisons Foundation.
Finally, the community centre has received generous support this year from organisations and
individuals and the Committee gives thanks for that support. Donations have been receiv8d through
a new fundralsing initiativ8 With PayPal of £209. Marshfield and Cold Ashton Wl raised £402.50
towards fijture planned updates at the Community Centre from protseds of their quiz. Last but
C8rtainly not least, Marshfield Community Centre's stalwart champions. Dawn & Louis Brooks raised
over £400 at their blrthday barn dance.

on pages 1 to 6.

As the Charity Trustees you are restK)nsibk8 for the wepara￿￿ of the accounts. You ryjnsider that
an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (Ihe Acr) and that
an Independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to examine the ac(x)unts urlder section 145 of the Act. to follow the prO￿dUreS
laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the
Act), and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of independent examlnerfs report
My examination was carried out in accordance vith general Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented with those ret￿ls. It also indudes Consideration of any
unusual items or disclosures in the ac(J)unts, and seekn'ng explanations from you as Charity Trustees
conceming any such matters. The proc*dures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would
