The Trustees and18ad8rs of KlngsHeart church give thanks for a 8ignificant year having ¢elebrat8d
the 40th Anniversary ot KingsHeart church.
We have been delighted to welcome now members and our childr8n work has grown signlficanlly.
As part ol this years investment into our children's WOTk, the upstairs classroom area has been
remod8118d and expanded to now include a much larger room for the $7 year olds. A brand new
crecheltoddler araa has been created by building out onto the upstairs landing area. The plans, lire
safety and relevant council planning submissions were completed by John Burke and Associates.
The new rooms have made a very posslive difference to the children's work. For the second year
running, Mrs Carter lod the October boot bash event as an allemative to Halloween for the Rise
park ￿MmunIty. We were thrilled lo have so many visitors to the èvent.
In August 2023, the church celebrated ts 40th Anniversary. The event was attended by both the
current members of the churGh and many past members who travelled from all oveT the UK to join
us. The church welcomed ov8r 200 p8ople and we were delighted to have Hugh Osgood joln us
and share his thoughts arKI hopes for KingsHeart.
C.A.M.E.O {Como and meet each other) outreach group lor the over fifties continues to thrive and
has proven lo be oné of thè most well received and attended groups in the Rise park aroa
supporting th8 elderfy and lonely. The trustees would like to commend all those from KlngsHeart
supporting the group.
Other groups meeting at KingsHeart include Singcerty choir led by Tabby Webb. A150 n8w in 2023
is Sing lor Heath, a now group stsrted by Tabby to halp all those suffering with heatth and
brèathing difficuhies. Love Beyond also premiered its new concert version at City Galos in Ilford
with over 800 people attending.
The trustees are pleased to endorse Ihe current vision and values adopted tor the church, and with
gratitLSde acknowledg6 the blessing of God on the work.

The charty is controlled by ils gov8rning document, a deed of trust, and constitutes an
unincorporated charty.
TTUStees are selected by the other members of the Trustee Board.
New Trust8es are approarhed trom amongst the Churth Membernhip.
The TTUStees meel periodicalty in the year to review strategy, pgrformance. operating plans,
budgets, building matters and health and safety issues.
Charity Law r8quir8S the Trustees to prepare financial stalements for each financial year, which
giv8 a true and Iwr view ol the state ol affairs of the Charity and of the surplus or deficff of the
Charity for that period. In preparing ihose financial stalements, the Trustees have:

Mad8 judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
Prepared the flnancial statements on a going concem basis.
Stated whether applicable accounting slandards have been followed subjèct to any material
departures disclosed and explained in Ihe financial statements.
The Truslegs have overall responsibility for ensuring that the Chanty has appropriate systems ot
control, financial and Oth8￿$se.
They are also responsible for keetmng proper accounting records, which disclos8 with reasonable
accuracy at any time, the financial position of the Charity. They are also résponsible lor
safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence tth'ng reasonable steps for tho prevention and
delgclion of fraud and other irregularities and to provide reasonable assurance that:

The Charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements. The
trustees are satisfied thal the audit requirement of Section 14411) of the Charities Act 2011
(the Acll does not apply, and that there i¥ no requirement in the governing document or
constitution of the Charity for the conducting of an audit. As a ¢c)nsequence, the tru5tee$ have
elected that the financial statements be subject lo independent ex8minab"on.

I conducted my examination in accc*dance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commsssionets fof England & Wales in relation to the conducts'ng of an independent
examination, referred to above. An independent examination includes a review of the
accounting records kept by the Charity and of the accounting systems employed by the
Charity and a ¢omparison of the financial statements presented with those ￿cOrdS. It also
includes considerat￿￿ of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements, and
seeking explanations from you as twstees concerning such matters. The purpose of the
examination is lo establBh as far as possible that there have been no breaches of the
Charil¢es legislation and that the financial statements comply with the SORP, on a 1851 basis,
of evidence relevant to the arnounts and dixlosures in the financial statements.
