Trustees. Annual Report for the year erKled 31 March 2024
Dear Frlends. Supporters. and Cofflrnuntty Members. Trustee
Annual Report
2024 proved to be another tough year for VGCC as we remained dedicated to supportin8 our
local community. Many individuals are still feelin6 the effects of risin8 living costs and food
insecurity. Each week. the nee¢J for assistance 8rows, and as lon8 as this situation persists,
VGCC will work ttrele551y to fill the void.
Although inflation has si8nilicantly decreased. it doesn't imply that prices are dropping..
rather, they conttnue to rise. albeit at a slowei pace. This ongoin8 increase makes it
challenging for many to afford essential everyday items. VGCC h35 been actively addressin8
this issue by running an open food bank that 5erve5 the community without restrictions.
The demand lor a5$1stan￿ has surged si8nificantly, and thanks to the unwavering support
from our dedicated partner or8ènisations, we have continued to successfully provide help to
our local tommunity in Lambeth and neb8hbourin8 boroughs.
In September 2024, VGCC oryanlsed a vibrant cuhural celebration. thanks to the 8rènts from
Lambeth Council's Night Time Enttrprise Zone Team. The event attracted a diverse crowd,
brlngln8 tO8ether individuals from various backgrounds. Attendees enjoyed a rlch array ol
entertainment, featuring drummin& livé musit. and dance performances, includin8 a variety
of music by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra.
VGCC In collèboratlon with NEON delivered a pro8rarnme in Au8usVSeptember 2024. Future
Proofd Digiial Mèdia and Marketing was a pro8ramme designed to empower Young People
wlth a comprehen5Ne understanding of the di8ltal media and marketin8 (￿aliVe industry.
Besides VGCC and NEON, other professional partnerlsl that supported delivery of the
programme were Through the Lab, Abstract Benna and Lambeth Eveni Team.
VGCC maintains robust partnerships wilh Lambeth Countil. Vauxhall One, Neon Performing
Art5. Cool it Art, Care4Calais, and all the donor organisations that contribute to our lgodbank.
This includes City Harvest, Plan Z Heroes, Felix Projeci. crtywlre. Shop&Drop. City Grove,
Larnbeth Walk Methodist and St. Anselm's churches. and the dedicated iThdividuals from our
Community who are enthusiastic about VGCC'S mission and tonsistently provide financial

Foodbank
Our foodbank ha5 been runninB now fof three years, and we've seen a significant rise in
demand. Ori8inalty established to SUPPDrt ihe local community, particularly resitlents of the

seekln8 aSSlStance. In response, we chose to keep Ouf doors open to anyone in need, especiallv
those grappling wlth the cost-of-living Crisis and food Insecurity.
While it's been noted in the report that inflation has si8nificantly decreased over the past two
years, this doesn't necessarily indicate thai condiiions have improved for the mèjority of
households. Many individuals who are employed Still stiu8gle to cover their basic expenses,
