SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Following the successful NLHF grant
application in 2022 for the Connect to
Nature (C2N) project, the Trust
commenced a two-year programme of
activities and improvements. These
included: upgrading its social media
platforms, Facebook and website; creating
a monthly newsletter; hiring temporary
support staff to manage many events
inside and outside of the BCC; training
courses for the BCC volunteers and
Trustees.
During 2024 there were visits from local
schools and disadvantaged groups. These
included Afghan refugee families currently
housed in nearby Chivenor. Also of note
were the Braunton Wellbeing walks
arranged in co-operation with Live Well in
Braunton group and Caen Medical Centre.
They are very popular and of great benefit
to many elderly people who enjoyed the
gentle local walks and socializing with
refreshments in the Centre afterwards.
