Friends of Four Marks School
Charity number 296536
Trustee Annual Report for the year ending 31" August 2022
Objectives and Artivities
Objectives
To advance the education of the pupils of the school (Four Marks C of E Primary School) by providing
and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school not normally provided by the
local education authority.
Also, alongside this core objective, to provide the students of the school with events/activities which
enhance their school experience. In this, there can be events/activities that will be held without the
need to raise funds.
In order to fulfil these aims, we rely on parents to volunteer their time to run the charity and to
recruit others to help with events and activities.
Artivities
Bonfire and Fireworks Display- November 2021
This event, held during difficult circumstances with the Covid virus still present, was a significant
success. Within the school grounds, we organised a bonfire, a professional firework display and
several stalls including food and refreshments. This was an event supported strongly by the residents
of Four Marks, so much so that we sold the maximum we are permitted to. There were contributions
from many volunteers to set up the event on the day and also to run the stalls and man the entrance
during the evening, including school staff and parents. We also agreed sponsorship of the event with
a local company. This was by far the most financially successful event of the year, raising over £9,000
net of costs.
Elfridges- December 2021
An event we run so that the students can buy a reasonably priced Christmas gift for their family
members by themselves. The decision to run this event is with the full understanding that it is not a
fund raiser and is done purely for the children's enjoyment. We purchase the items for the children
to buy, set out the stalls, wrap the presents and help the children to decide which gifts they prefer.
Hampers- December 2021
This is a raffle that we organised by collecting donations from parents and local companies,
combining them to make hampers for which we sell raffle tickets.

Xmas Cards- December 2021
The students of the school design their own Christmas cards which are then purchased by parents to
give to their family and friends.
Easter- April 2022
The children are given a gift of chocolate mini-eggs and then are asked to return the little boxes with
spare change.
Tea Towels- May 2022
The students of the school drew a picture of themselves and we combined them in to a tea towel
design and got them printed. We then sold them to parents of the children.
Jubilee-june 2022
We arranged a stall at the village's Jubilee event which included a cake and ice cream stand and nerf
gun range. Both were popular and the day was a success.
Sports Day Ice Cream-june 2022
At the school's sports day, we set up a small stand for ice creams and lollies.
Four Fest-july 2022
We organise a musical day on the school premises and include stalls for people to visit which include
food and drinks. We also provided several large inflatables for the children to play on and a water
area to cool down (it was a hot day). This was largely a success and we raised over £3,000.
Uniforms- throughout the year
We organise the collection of donated pre-loved uniforms to then sell to parents at events and
various times during the year.
Other events included a Bag2School collection.
Future Plans
The aims of the PTA are to continue with the successful fund raising and support the school.

Projects Funded
The projects funded in the year represent those that the school have requested be funded and are
largely annually recurring activities. Historically, projects funded have included these, but have also
been for much larger amounts and they are requested specifically by the Headmaster of the School.
The committee are continually looking for projects to fund for the school and this remains a priority.
Our Finances
The financial report shows net funds raised of £19,692 (2020/21 £4,789) and school projects funded
of £2,251 (2020/21 £9,710).
We are unregistered for VAT.
Reserves at the year end are £20,485 and the vast majority of this amount will be spent on future
school projects whilst retaining a small amount to fund the cash oufflow of holding fund raising
events.
