GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH
Annual Report for the Year to 5[th] April 2022
Grace Community Church, 2 Landmark House, Wirral Park Road, Glastonbury is registered with the Charity Commissioners (No 296437) and constituted by Deed of Trust.
The Charity is administered by the Trustees comprising:
Chairman - Mr. Paul Botterill
Treasurer - Mr. John Shaw
Trustee - Mrs Fiona Shaw
The object of the Charity is to assist the members of the Community Church to fulfil their vision, which is: -
“ To make the love of God, as expressed through the life of Jesus Christ, known to Glastonbury and the surrounding area. It goes beyond the confines of the locality to the world wherever the opportunity arises.
We find that we are enabled to realise this by becoming a people who:
-
Acknowledge Jesus to be supreme in all things and this issues in a life of joyful praise
-
Believe that the Bible is the Word of God and live out that belief
-
Are “in touch” with God and communicate with Him regularly in prayer
-
Are filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered by Him to live life as it is meant to be
-
Are committed to encourage, strengthen and love each other; to fully support one another in everyday life and in our faith. We believe that when people are reconciled to god, they can know the blessing of human relationships as God intended
-
Believe that God will work out His purposes in us and in the world; that life is not haphazard, but God is in control.
We believe that, in each of these areas, God has provided us with direction and practical ways of serving Him and one another. Each
person has his or her particular special gift(s), which, when used together, will contribute to the benefit of the community.”
The Charity supports the leadership of the Elders in guiding the members towards the realisation of their vision.
The Charity has continued to maintain the level of counselling skills required to maintain a Pregnancy Crisis Centre (PCC). Advice and counselling are available in confidence from experienced and trained counsellors, including post-abortion counselling. The PCC continues to be linked to the national telephone helpline and the number of clients helped face to face and via the telephone has increased. The helpline is manned every Saturday morning and occasionally on Sunday afternoons.
The Charity continues to provide the offices, waiting and counselling rooms for the Pregnancy Crisis Centre at 2 Landmark House.
The Charity has made a net loss in terms of income and expenditure reflecting the difficulties of meeting during the covid pandemic. Measures have been taken to ensure that income and expenditure is balanced in the coming financial year.
The Charity has maintained its generosity to those in need both in this country and abroad.
Signed:
J Shaw
