Minutes of Meeting Held on 18 April 2017

The Minutes were approved as a true record of the Meeting (Prop RB Sec GP)and were signed by the Chairman. It was noted for clarity that the Committee had authorised the Treasurer to spend up to £2000 on the upkeep and maintenance of the Church _at any one time_ without seeking further authority from the Committee and that this should be a standing arrangement.

Election of Officers

The Secretary confirmed that as a properly convened meeting attended by four members, we were quorate and the Committee, Chairman and Officers were unanimously re-elected (Prop RB, Sec PB)

## Treasurer’s Report

See appended sheet for financial situation at the end of 2021. Regular subscriptions at £1300pa and several legacies meant that there is no particular need for fundraising at present. It was noted that David Penn of Hunters Moon, retired Company Secretary had approved the figures as an independent examiner.

Chairman’s Report

The Chairman noted that we celebrate forty years of the Charity this year, 1982-2022. He thanked the Committee for their work for FOAC which while not busy in the public sphere had been very successful in its central purpose ‘the preservation of the parish church of All Saints’. The Chairman felt that FOAC would be best led by someone either resident in Aisholt or a member of the congregation but he would happily continue until a replacement could be found Report from the PCC Representative

PB said that the Friends had effectively taken over financial responsibility for the maintenance of the Church and graveyard. He outlined a number of projects completed and underway including the audio system, the gateposts, duck-boards in the roof valley, cleaning the tower, the stone mullion of the vestry window, the lightning conductor, storm damage to the tower rain spout and boiler

maintenance. Future expenditure could include tree work due to ash die-back, repairs to the car park entrance, steps and a hand-rail in the graveyard, an unstable chest tomb, an outside toilet and the removal of pews from the South Aisle. The Chairman suggested that the Friends would probably want to support the PCC in whatever they wished to do.

## Events

RB said there is likely to be a churchyard tidy-up day which often involved non-churchgoers.

## AOB & DONM

It was noted that in view of the charity’s healthy financial situation the Committee should commit to good record keeping and at least one meeting a year, day to day business being conducted in person and by email. The next meeting should be held no later than July 2023

The Chairman undertook to provide the church with some Social Media presence as well as keeping aisholt.org updated in the hope of attracting worshippers.
