Governing Document

The Charity operates under the set of rules adopted on 15[th] December 1986.

Objectives and Activities

The objectives of the society are:

To promote and encourage agriculture, horticulture and livestock breeding

To support rural crafts and traditions

To organise and hold an annual agricultural show for the benefit of the local community

The trustees confirm that they have regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity’s aims and planning activities.

The principal activity of the charity is the organisation of the annual Camborne Show, which provides livestock competitions, horticultural classes, craft classes, displays and demonstrations, musical entertainment, cookery classes, children’s craft and art classes, vintage vehicles and educational demonstrations relating to farming and rural life.

Achievements and Performance

The 2025 Camborne Show was held on 19[th] July 2025 at Gear Farm.

The event was well supported by exhibitors, traders and members of the public. Highlights of the show included:

Livestock classes for cattle, horses and heavy horses Equestrian competitions Horticultural and produce competitions and displays Craft and cookery competitions, craft demonstrations Children’s art and craft competitions, interactive activities Dog show Display of vintage vehicles Trade stands featuring local crafts and businesses and selected charities Children’s funfair Cagebird section Entertainment from local bands, musicians and singers Sheep and goats for petting

Visitor attendance was estimated at 4,500 people

The trustees consider that the show successfully fulfilled the society’s objectives by promoting agriculture and providing an enjoyable and educational event for the surrounding community.

Financial Review

The charity’s main sources of income were: Admission charges Sponsorship from local businesses Entry Fees from competitors Trade stand fees

Total income for the year was £36,161and total expenditure was £34,558, resulting in a surplus of £1,603

At the year end the charity held £34,171 in reserves. The trustees consider this level of reserves to be appropriate to ensure the continued organisation of the annual show and to meet unforeseen costs.

Plans for the Future

The trustees intend to continue organising the Camborne Show and to encourage increased participation from exhibitors, traders and community groups and attendance from the public.
