achievements of the charity,

charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The charity ran a number of fundraising events
during the year including Summer and
Christmas fairs, a ball, a sponsored walk, quiz
night, discos, PJ and Popcorn nights,
fundraising challenges involving the children as
well as more routine fundraising activities such
as providing refreshments at events and cake
sales. We have also continued to provide the
opportunity for parents to give regular
donations to the school.
The funds have been used to refurbish a toilet
block, make a significant contribution to IT
resources, purchase teaching resources, make
curriculum spend, music and library provision.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 At the end of the financial year, the charity
held cash reserves of £48,865. Of this, £7,636
is committed for payment to the school in the
next financial year. The Committee considers
the charity to be in a sound financial position,
with sufficient reserves to meet its short-term
commitments and to respond promptly to
suitable funding opportunities for the benefit of
the school. The financial position is reviewed
regularly to ensure funds are used effectively
in line with the charity’s objectives.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 The Committee has considered the level of
reserves required by the charity. It is the
Committee's opinion that most reserves
should be passed to the development of the
school as soon as an appropriate project
arises. As the charity relies on income from
events held during the year and donations, a
minimum reserve of £5,000 is maintained to
ensure ongoing commitments to the school
can be met. Further the committee will only
commit to an expenditure if sufficient funds are
held.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 £48,865
